This is the pickup truck that got American moving again after WWII. In fact, Chevy even acknowledged these more as a continuation of the Pre-War 1942 model year from a design and engineering standpoint after the break in production. And since it is a blueblood American pickup, there's no better place to start than with metallic blue paint. It has so much shine that this Chevy only needs chrome as an accent piece. In fact, black is more this pickup's style with the grille, window surround, running boards, and bedcover offering some delightfully accented touches. There's even a removable black bedliner in case you want to protect the high end, custom, real wood bed. But easily the coolest dark elements are the wheels. The alternating chrome and black give the feeling of the old steelie style. Plus, with the larger 15-inch wheels, and staggered tire size, they really give this one an aggressive stance.

Inside the custom work continues with a pair of modern gray leather bucket seats that offer far more comfort than anything that came out of the '40s. You're comfortable feeling continues with the Grant three-spoke wood steering wheel, and beyond that are a full set of VDO gauges. As you gaze over the color-matched dashboard, you'll even spot controls for the ice-cold air conditioning that's running modern R134a for easy servicing.

But the best upgrade of them all is saved for the engine bay. You're looking at a Jasper Performance 350 V8 that's been bored .40 over. It's fortified for solid power and even features an RV cam. The mighty V8 inhales deeply through a new Holley four-barrel carburetor. It exhales with authority through Hedman Headers on its way to announcing its power with great sounding Cherry Bomb mufflers. But more than just high horsepower, this custom build has a big investment in being a great all-day runner. It has a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual-speed electric fan to keep the V8 cool even at parade speeds. Plus, this '46 is actually riding on a more modern and comfortable Chevy S10 chassis. That means an independent front suspension, front disc brakes, and power steering. Plus, you have the convenience of a four-speed overdrive automatic transmission and a rear end with versatile 3.73 gears. So this pickup truly is ready for everything from power take-offs to the Power Tour.
