2002 Pontiac Firebird Collectors Edition 35th anniversary

We didn't know it back then, but this 2002 Pontiac Firebird 30th Anniversary Trans Am was the last time we'd celebrate a milestone with Pontiac. So that makes this collector's edition coupe desirable well beyond its desirable LS1 V8, six-speed manual transmission, the ultra low mileage, WS6 package, and extremely affordable price.

This has always been a true collector's car from day one. In fact, there were only 842 manual coupes built for the US and Canada. So that's why this one-owner car has been treated so special, and only has 5,362 actual miles on it. The special 35th anniversary package started with the appropriately named Collector Yellow with the WS6 performance package (you can tell by that cool aggressive ram air scoop in the front). Then some very unique factory striping was added from hood to tail. Making sure that this special edition is truly a fierce package are the special 17-inch black aluminum wheels and the coordinating dark tinted T-tops.

The dark attitude continues inside with the full Ebony interior. Such few miles means very little seat time in the black leather buckets that even come with commemorative stitching in the headrest. These anniversary cars only came one way – loaded. This includes features such as power windows, power driver's seat, power locks, cruise control, keyless entry, steering wheel mounted controls, Monsoon AM/FM/CD premium stereo, and air conditioning. The last one is especially nice because you can keep the car ice cold even with the T-tops out. Beyond just luxury features, a modern classic also means modern safety too. So you get items like dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, and traction control (yes, you can turn that last one off when it's time to have fun.) The final key to this performance interior is a cool factory optional Hurst shifter.

Under the hood is the 325 hp LS1 fuel-injected V8 that this special edition T/A has always had from day one. In fact, the entire engine bay looks like a fresh time capsule. You might have spotted the addition of a carbon fiber air box, but the purists will be happy to know the original comes with the car, too. The lightweight all-aluminum powerhouse eclipses just about every other muscle car powerplant from this era, and it'll return surprisingly good fuel economy when driven with a conservative right foot. It only gets better when mated to a T56 six-speed manual transmission for the ultimate control to instantly turn mild into wild. The suspension is another WS6 high point, with bigger sway bars and higher spring rates than a regular Trans Am. Add this to four-wheel disc brakes and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, and we won't blame you for wanting to go out and have fun in this highly collectable car.

We have the original window sticker, owner's manual, and plenty of documentation to show you that this is the last great Firebird ever.
