These are the stories we love. This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle has been in the same family all its life, and it was purchased new just a few miles from our showroom. Along the way it has received some serious muscle car upgrades, like a performance enhanced 396 big block, but the original spirit lives. It even still carries the factory colors it came with when the owner's mom bought it back in the spring of '69.

Brilliantly refinished in a gorgeous Dark Blue, this Chevelle was restored to give it a much meaner SS attitude. In fact, this color has a nice shine from a modern clearcoat and a terrific metallic element, so it's the perfect way to give this car distinction from the black coupes out there without losing the dark attitude. The same goes for the 60s-iconic Cragar Keystone wheels. Plus, all the right details are in place such as the correct SS 396 stripe, all the right badging, and a black vinyl roof to match factory spec and retain the premium feeling. The result is a unique Chevelle with a cool history and an aggressive attitude.

One look inside, and you know this Chevelle has everything you want. It starts with the high-back bucket seats. There was some investment here because the blue vinyl shows very little seat time. In between is the optional center console with the iconic horseshoe shifter. The carpets, door panels, and dash all have a very fresh feeling to them. You'll slip behind the three-spoke sports steering wheel, and see the full gauge instrument panel that includes a large speedo and tach. There are plenty of people who will want to go for a ride in your cool Chevelle, so to keep them entertained there is a newer AM/FM/cassette stereo that works with a six-disc CD changer. There's even provisions for modern R134a air conditioning to keep everyone cool.

While this Chevelle has been given many upgrades during its restoration, you're favorite will be under the hood. It's an L78 396 cubic-inch V8 with 375 advertised horsepower from Chevrolet. While the big block is already what muscle car dreams are made of, this one has been further enhanced with features like a bored over .030 kit, Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake, and MSD ignition. This beast awakens easily, and there is no mistaking the big block rumble from the dual exhaust. All this power is handled nicely by the TH400 three-speed automatic that feeds the stout 12-bolt Positraction rear end running versatile 3.91 gears. It's not just the auto trans and limited slip that make this a great all-around cruiser. Features like the recently serviced independent front suspension, power steering, front disc brakes, and the grip of BF Goodrich T/A radials make this a muscle car that's very easy to live with.
