This 1936 Ford Sedan Deluxe street rod provides plenty of attitude with its seriously bold paint and a custom A/C interior. Good thing it also has an enhanced Ford 302 V8 and upgraded suspension to back it all up.

We call Fords "Big Blue Ovals", but this rounded custom classic truly takes that saying to the next level. The handsome 1936 models were an evolution of the '35s, with that iconic wrap-around grille, flowing fenders that encapsulated the wheels, and the gently rounded bodywork make it beautiful. The modern metallic blue paint perfectly highlights each piece of this design as the deep flake makes each curve look like liquid cobalt in the sunshine. Rivaling this modern blue for luster are the great bright elements like the sculpted bumpers, grille surround, and that tall 16-inch wheels. This custom build's finish quality is quite good, with four doors that close easily and good gaps all around. It's this kind of thorough attention to detail that makes it far more appealing than just a car to show off.

More of this practicality is seen on the interior. At first glance it's just a custom two-tone blue setup to coordinate with the exterior. But then you start to see the seats are a comfortable cloth, and you even have provisions for cup holders. There are plenty of premium futures, including power windows, an AM/FM stereo with an aux input for your iPod, and even ice-cold R134a air conditioning. As the driver, you get a cool banjo-style wheel on a tilt column. Beyond that are a full set of VDO gauges, which should start to get you thinking about something special under the hood.

It's great to see Ford power running a Ford hot rod. It only gets better when you see that this 302 V8 has been enhanced with performance features such as an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, full MSD ignition setup, and headers. But don't just listen to the mean rumble of the dual exhaust; take a look at the undercarriage shots to see the whole setup. There you'll also spot the more modern street rod chassis. It includes upgrades like an independent front suspension with tubular A-arms and sway bar. In the rear is an adjustable coilover setup. Add to all this features like the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes, and this is a great anytime, anywhere custom cruiser.

Rarely does a custom build offer so much usability for such an affordable price.
