But the true luxuries are all behind this. The rear portion has been fitted with a custom wood interior that has a pair of built-in benches that face a collapsible table, there's even space to lie down on the cushioned rear compartment. It has been outfitted so that a standard electrical outlet can be plugged in a provide power to the whole van and it's built-in lighting system. But thanks to the screens on the windows and the screened-in center section, you could just park this in nature to absorb your surroundings without letting the bugs inside. It's an amazing setup that we know has you thinking about how to use it for everything from campgrounds, to the next car show.

The engine is Volkswagen's famous flat-four unit. While you already know how virtually bulletproof that powerplant is, you'll love to know it has also has been rebuilt around 300 miles ago, including the dual carbs. So while this air-cooled wonder still won't win you any drag races, it's great to know it's in the top condition and precious horsepower has not been lost from decades of use. This is linked to the sturdy and versatile four-speed manual transmission, which allows you to get the most out of the motor. It makes for an unbeatable package that provides reliability and fun driving. These early second generation Type 2s are a favorite for many. They retain a similar exterior appearance to the first generation, and still benefit from the improved rear suspension. Add in front disc brakes and the grip of modern Goodyear tires, and this classic Bus makes for a great anytime cruiser.
