MARTI REPORT, #'S MATCHING, CORRECT COLOR, VERY CLEAN MACH 1, READY TO ROLL!

Glance at the Mustang market and you'll see what's going on. Shelbys are already priced out-of-sight, the Boss 429s are right behind, and the Boss 302 became a six-figure car almost overnight. That leaves the Mach 1 as the Next Big Thing in the Mustang world, so get a good one like this matching-numbers 1970 Mach 1 and enjoy your sportsroof Mustang while it appreciates.

Restored to its original specs, someone knew this Mach 1 would be worth more in stock condition rather than dressed up and retooled as someone's fantasy car. As a result, the code K Bright Gold Metallic paint was expertly duplicated and reapplied to the car's sheetmetal skin, albeit rendered in modern materials to give it a fantastic shine. The bodywork is quite good and you won't be ashamed to pull this one into the local cruise night, and it's not so nice that you'll be afraid to drive it so it's still a wonderful road machine. The blacked-out hood with scoop, the hood pins, front and rear spoilers, and matching black lower cladding all make the '70 Mustang Mach 1 one of the best-looking ponies ever built. A few chrome bits took a trip to the plating shop, so they're bright and shiny, and correct decals and emblems were ... Please ask for the full description.

A few chrome bits took a trip to the plating shop, so they're bright and shiny, and correct decals and emblems were installed to complete the restoration.

The interior was correctly restored using accurate reproductions of the original black vinyl seat covers, complete with red inserts. With the Mach 1's mission of being both a performance car and a somewhat luxurious grand tourer, the woodgrained panels for the dash seem appropriate and there's a handsome center console with some extra storage and an armrest, all nicely finished, of course. The chrome T-handle for the FMX transmission falls to hand easily, and just ahead of it is a Sony AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit from quite a few years ago, but it's still an upgrade over the original AM unit. The optional fold-down back seat may very well be original and you'll also note that a set of speakers have been discreetly installed in the side panels. Pop the deck lid and you'll find a fresh trunk mat and enough space for a long road trip, which is what this Mustang was built to do.

The engine is the original, numbers-matching 351 cubic inch V8, which was the base powerplant for the Mach 1. But just because it was standard equipment doesn't mean that performance is lacking. In fact, the lightweight small block makes this Mach 1 an adept corner carver and still delivers plenty of low-end torque to dig out of turns. It's nicely finished in Ford Blue with no questionable modifications, again a testament to the car's growing value. Reproduction decals give it an authentic look and with a recent Flowmaster dual exhaust system, it has a ripping exhaust note that every Mustang fan will recognize. An FMX 3-speed automatic transmission means it's easy to drive in traffic, and with 3.25 gears in the 9-inch rear end, it strikes just the right balance between acceleration and easy highway cruising. Beautiful Magnum 500 wheels look exactly right on the Mach 1, and wear 225/70/14 Uniroyal white-letter radials.

Documented with the original warranty card and a Marti report to prove authenticity, this is a very affordable real-deal Mach 1 that can only become more valuable as the years go on. Call today!
