Trucks are the real deal today, servicing the hobby with style, performance, and collectability like never before. If it's affordable fun you're looking for, you'll be hard-pressed to do better than this 1984 GMC pickup that brings great looks and eminent practicality with it.

The vivid electric blue paint job definitely makes this pickup stand out in a crowd, and it has been tastefully modified using all the standard custom truck tricks. There's a cowl induction hood, a billet grille, and an overall smooth look that works quite well with the squared-off lines of the GMC. There's a good amount of time invested in making it look this good, and while the work was done some time ago, it still looks flashy and gets a lot of attention out on the road. The original trim remains intact, including the badges on the front fenders and stainless steel rub strips, which help to break up the sea of blue. A chrome front bumper looks right at home, although the rear bumper has been replaced by a smooth roll pan with integral license plate frame. The bed was refinished at the same time, but a few scars suggest that it's still willing to work on weekends, which is exactly the point of owning a pickup like ... Description

5.0 V8, 4-SPEED AUTOMATIC, A/C, POWER WINDOWS, TILT COLUMN, CRUISE, DUAL EXHAUST

The bed was refinished at the same time, but a few scars suggest that it's still willing to work on weekends, which is exactly the point of owning a pickup like this.

The interior matches the exterior's lightly revised looks with a combination of original gear and aftermarket upgrades that enhance the driving experience. The dash is wrapped in billet aluminum, surrounding a complete set of factory gauges plus a column-mounted tach. Black cloth upholstery covers the original bench, along with black carpets on the floor protected by mats that offer the same vivid blue. Loaded with options, like A/C, power windows and locks, a tilt column, and cruise control this GMC is a pleasure to drive under just about any circumstances, although you'll save it for special occasions. A powerful AM/FM/CD stereo has been installed in the dash with speakers in the door panels and dash, and it fills the small cab with crisp, clear sound.

The reason full-sized pickups remain popular after all these years is that they offer what is essentially the muscle car formula: big V8 up front, rear wheel drive, and rugged mechanicals that will easily take the abuse of a few full-throttle runs. This GMC packs a 5.0 liter V8 topped by an Edelbrock intake and carburetor, as well as a set of long-tube headers to help build torque. Beyond a chrome air cleaner and some bright yellow plug wires, it isn't really detailed for show, but that's not really the point here. Instead, it's as reliable as a cinder block, has great torque to make it entertaining to drive, and with a 4-speed automatic, it's even reasonably thrifty on the highway. The dual exhaust sounds awesome, another link to the muscle car era, and the lowered suspension sits just right, not too low and not towering over the pavement. Of course, those beefy 20-inch wheels certainly help, especially when wrapped in fat 275/40/20 performance radials.

Fun, affordable, and handsome, pickups like this are a great way to get into the car hobby without a major investment, and it might even make you forget muscle cars. Call today!
