RETRO BUILT 2005 GT, MODERN CAR WITH 1969 APPEARANCE, PROFESSIONALLY BUILT

The 2005 Mustang GT definitely has a retro look, but if you think that they factory didn't go quite far enough, then this amazing RetroBuilt conversion is worth examining more closely. A modern tribute to the 1969 Mustang – arguably the best-looking pony of them all – it delivers state-of-the-art performance and comfort with that vintage Trans-Am racing look.

The RetroBuilt conversion costs a whopping $24,250, and that's on top of the price of a new Mustang GT. Fortunately, you get what you pay for, because the work is seamless and the transition is quite convincing. The front end accurately mimics the '69 and is arguably better-looking than any modern Mustang in decades, and incorporates the classic styling cues, up to and including chrome bumpers. The conversion continues by adding custom door skins that lead to quarter panel vents, blanked-out quarter windows, and a tail treatment that incorporates another chrome bumper like the original. The workmanship is beyond impressive and it's almost impossible to see where the old and new meet. Somehow, even the roof profile looks vintage, which is impressive all by itself. The paint is a subtle silver-blue that looks great on the old/new body ... Please ask for the full description.

The paint is a subtle silver-blue that looks great on the old/new body and given the price point, you know that finish quality is outstanding. Add a few graphic details that give it a road-race look, and you have a modern-day Trans-Am racer that's full of modern amenities. Wow!

The interior is pretty much standard 2005 Mustang GT, including all its retro-inspired styling. Horizontal pleats on the tan leather seats are a tribute to the old "comfort-weave" originals, and the dash has a definite old-school vibe. But all the modern features are there, including powerful A/C, power windows and locks, and a fantastic Pioneer stereo system with touch pad and iPod connectivity. The factory gauges offer a late-60s font and a set of digital auxiliary dials were added on the A-pillar to monitor the vitals. It still feels modern, of course, and everything works like you'd expect from a fully-engineered OEM machine, but the experience of driving this car is really something to be savored. There's plenty of room in the back seat, and even the trunk is fully finished and outfitted with a rubber mat and subwoofer enclosure.

For performance, there's a heavily upgraded 4.6 liter V8. The internals are stock, so it's going to have OEM levels of reliability, but with upgrades like an FRPP intake, performance camshafts, bigger throttle body, and long-tube headers, it definitely has a lot more punch. A custom calibration on the ECU means it starts and drives like a stocker and the Borla mufflers give it that vintage hot-rod soundtrack. Suspension enhancements include a BMR adjustable Panhard rod, Strange Engineering shocks and struts, and upgraded sway bars, along with a Steeda aluminum driveshaft between the 5-speed and the stock rear end. The workmanship was all professionally done, and this is definitely no home-built hot rod, so you can enjoy it without worries and it still works beautifully as, you know, a real car. Even those gorgeous 18-inch wheels are a tribute to vintage Magnum 500s and wear 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 rear performance radials.

This might be the most awesome retro Mustang we've ever seen. It's definitely got the look, and with no-compromises mechanicals underneath and a comfortable interior, you can drive it every day. Call now!
