NICE 210 55, BEL AIR TRIM, 350CI CHEVY, TH350 TRANS, NICE WEEKEND CRUISER

Cars like this 1955 Chevy Bel Air require two things: time and money. The more of one you have, the less of the other you need, but there's no way around it, a car this nice requires a serious investment. Packing a nicely detailed small block under the hood and a '50s perfect two-tone color scheme, this is a car that everyone can appreciate. Fast, reliable, and gorgeous, it's everything the original designers wanted the 1955 Chevy to be.

Non-experts might guess that the unusual two-tone paint scheme is incorrect, but a glance at the cowl tag reveals that this car was originally code 612S India Ivory over Regal Turquoise. That little “S” at the end means “Speedline Styling,” indicating that the two-tone treatment extends to the rear quarters and trunk lid as well as the top. Therefore, this car is as it could have been in 1955, even if the turquoise part isn't quite factory exact. The bodywork is straight, the glossy paint looks great, and the car fits together extremely well. The white India Ivory is a very elegant contrast to the bright, cheerful blue, and together they give the car a soft glow that is perfect for the era without the heavy metallics we get today. All the trim is intact, ... Please ask for the full description.

That little "S" at the end means "Speedline Styling," indicating that the two-tone treatment extends to the rear quarters and trunk lid as well as the top. All the trim is intact, which also means someone spent enough restoring it to put a kid through college. Detailing is crisp, and the brightwork looks great in person.

The interior has been restored to look period correct with a few notable exceptions. The seats wear bright white seat covers with narrow pleats for a true '50s vibe and the door panels were stitched to match. Dark blue carpets show expert binding work and are protected by rubber floor mats with a '50s style Chevrolet logo. You'll note the dash is quite stock and dazzling, with the original gauges being restored and functional. Sharp-eyed viewers will spot the Hurst T-handle shifter sticking out of the floor, giving it a vintage performance look that works quite well with the mild custom attitude. An AM/FM/cassette radio has been neatly installed in the dash, but no cutting was required so it looks right. In back, the trunk was restored with a rubber mat and a spare tire with custom cover.

Power comes from a well-dressed 350 cubic inch V8 that was built to cruise. Liberal doses of chrome plating make the engine bay glitter, covering the air cleaner and valve covers, with Chevy Orange acting as backup. Modern amenities include an alternator and a 4-barrel carburetor, as well as a slick-shifting 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission, a nice upgrade over the original 2-speed PowerGlide. Ram's horn exhaust manifolds feed a mellow-sounding dual exhaust system while the suspension and brakes have been properly maintained. It rides on a set of stock steel wheels with wonderfully intricate hubcaps and 205/75/15 wide whitewall radials.

If you are looking for a great weekend cruiser that will still get looks at every stoplight and cruise night, this is certainly the car for you. Call today!
