VERY CLEAN C-10, GREAT BLACK PAINT, 350CI, 700R4 TRANS, A/C, HOUNDSTOOTH BENCH

Here at Streetside Classics, we're lucky enough to find the nicest old trucks in the south, and this 1972 Chevrolet C10 is no exception. Coming from a warm, dry climate, you know it's clean, and a fresh 350, overdrive transmission, gorgeous black paint, and factory A/C make it just a little nicer than your average pickup.

Almost every vehicle looks great in black, but getting a great black paint job is no easy task. Fortunately, this truck needed very little surgery to look this good, and while the paint is a few years old, it still has a deep shine that looks just right on the old pickup. There's quite a bit of effort tied up in the paint job and it's obvious that most of the trim was removed for the respray, polished up, and reinstalled to add to its well-dressed look. The short bed and regular cab are arguably the best combination for appearance reasons, and it gives the truck relatively compact dimensions so it's easy to handle around town and still carries everything you can throw at it from the lumber yard. And speaking of hauling, the bed is remarkably well preserved, with very little evidence of having been a work truck in its past, a spray-in bedliner for durability, and a ...

And speaking of hauling, the bed is remarkably well preserved, with very little evidence of having been a work truck in its past, a spray-in bedliner for durability, and a flush-fitting tonneau cover that gives it plenty of dry storage.

You'd expect a basic black interior, but you'll be pleasantly surprised to find houndstooth upholstery that looks like it was stolen from a Camaro. Nicely stitched, it definitely looks OEM because it was optional on the C10, giving the truck an upscale feel inside. Add the factory A/C, power steering, and power brakes, this is a truck that is-at least in 1972 terms-fairly luxurious compared to its contemporaries. The dash and door panels are in excellent shape, and the factory instrument panel includes speed and fuel level, with a Sun Pro tach on the steering column and a temperature gauge underneath. The original radio is long gone, replaced by a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo that's a vast improvement over the factory AM unit. The steering wheel looks like it might have come from a vintage Camaro, but has a slightly deeper dish and a fatter rim, so it feels great in your hands. Combine the vent windows with the sliding rear window, and this C10 becomes a pretty nice place to spend some time.

The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8, rebuilt and ready for another 40 years of reliable service. The monochromatic engine bay looks tidy and offers upgrades like an Edelbrock intake manifold, Vortec-style iron heads, a new radiator, and a big alternator, not to mention a Painless wiring harness. The A/C was upgraded to R134a refrigerant and cast iron exhaust manifolds dump into a custom-built dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. A 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and fresh 12-bolt with Eaton Posi and 3.73 gears mean that it's downright snappy around town and a relaxed cruiser on the highway. The suspension features 2-inch lowering springs all around to give it that sleek stance without an abusive ride, and there's also an adjustable track bar out back to fine tune the handling. Vintage Rally wheels always look great, especially when surrounded by beefy 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear Firestone radials.

If you're looking for a handsome, clean old truck that runs well and offers plenty of creature comforts, you've just found it. Call today!
