This 1969 Pontiac Firebird hardtop is a great example of doing it right. It offers an unusual color combination (big plus for those of us who like to be unique), a fantastic all-original interior, and a load of unusual options including factory A/C to make it a lot of fun to drive. Oh, and I should also mention that it's matching-numbers with a freshly rebuilt engine.
Antique Gold is a very 1960s color, and it's really a shame that so many cars were repainted orange and red and black over the years, because it really does give the Firebird a classic look. It looks great on the lean F-body and the restored exterior stands out with great workmanship and attention to detail. Note that the slash running across the front fender and into the door lines up exactly on both sides, that the hood fits tightly to the unique Pontiac front bumper and grille assembly, and the shine is simply brilliant. If you were expecting some dull 1960s enamel, guess again, because this sucker just glows in the sunlight. No unnecessary stripes, no fake badges or scoops, just a very proper Firebird that's got the awesome built right in. I mean, how many other cars can pull of a hood tach this successfully?

Antique Gold is a very 1960s color, and it's really a shame that so many cars were repainted orange and red and black over the years, because it really does give the Firebird a classic look. It looks great on the lean F-body and the restored exterior stands out with great workmanship and attention to detail. Note that the slash running across the front fender and into the door lines up exactly on both sides, that the hood fits tightly to the unique Pontiac front bumper and grille assembly, and the shine is simply brilliant. As I mentioned, the interior is almost completely original and in that regard, it's in simply astounding condition. The gold buckets are still supportive and comfortable and the seat covers show minimal wear and no splits or tears. Pontiac's version of performance also included a nice dose of luxury, so there's burled walnut trim on the center console, and the original owner saw fit to load this one up with desirable options like the aforementioned hood tack, A/C, and a tilt steering column. The original instruments are in nice shape with only light clouding of the lenses and there's every reason to believe that the 62,885 miles shown on the odometer are authentic. A pair of auxiliary gauges have been added below the dash, but otherwise it is pretty much as it was in 1969, which is a very good thing indeed. Heck, this car's so authentic that the trunk even carries a vintage dual-stripe bias-ply spare tire!
Freshly rebuilt and detailed, the original, matching-numbers 350 cubic inch V8 is ready to rock. Invisible upgrades include reworked heads, a mild Comp Cams camshaft, and electronic ignition, all cleverly hidden by the original air cleaner. Bright Pontiac Turquoise paint on the block stands out neatly against the satin black engine bay and since Pontiac knew folks would be peeking under the hood, they gave it some chrome to liven things up. The most obvious upgrade is a big aluminum radiator, but that means no worries when you're idling in traffic with the freshly rebuilt A/C system cranking away. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission features a fresh torque converter and spins what is obviously the original 10-bolt rear end. The undercarriage is quite stock and certainly suggests that the mileage is correct, and it's kind of nice to see a single exhaust system to give it a correct soundtrack. Pontiac Rally II wheels with 215/65/15 front and 255/60/15 rear BFG radials complete the stock look.
Pontiac fans have always marched to the beat of their own drum, and they've never been able to do it better than with this awesome and unusual Firebird. Call today!
