America was ready for this one. A 1928 Ford Model A Phaeton 4-door convertible пїЅ Series 35A. Records show that this car was produced on or about June 1928. Records also show the engine, number AA1675575 was cast in June of 1928. To confirm this date we checked some of the hardware and indeed it has those outside door handles, black steering wheel, the more modern die cast housings for those tail lamps and stronger wires wheels. Just off a total restoration, you will not find one better than this one. Give the English Coach Vermillion Red over those glossy black painted fenders, running boards, soft-top, and black interior a #9. It looks fantastic and was quite luxurious for the time.
This car shows very well with those spare tire mounted dual outside chrome mirrors, rear bumperettes and dual spare tires and those 4.2 X 21пїЅ whitewall tires, new upholstery, carpeting and more. The power comes from the trusted 4-cylinder L head design but Henry increased the displacement to 200.5 cid and horsepower was doubled to 40 mph at 2200 rpm for this model year. And the transmission remained unchanged with his 3-speed manual. The wheelbase was increased from 100.0 to 103.5пїЅ to allow for a more comfortable ride. To help keep this baby running safely, the electrical system was upgraded to a 12-volt system.
This model was introduced in December of 1927 and Henry took responsibility for the marketing of this car. Magazines of the time called his work - пїЅThe most soundly coordinated advertising campaign in AmericaпїЅs advertising historyпїЅ. His skills and publicity experience in promoting this Model A was one of his greatest accomplishments. The пїЅAпїЅ was a world of difference from the пїЅTпїЅ in styling, engineering and operation. By spring he had over 800000 orders. By the end of the run a few years later he wrote up over five million copies in various models and layouts. This Model A Phaeton 4-door open convertible is considered a rare car today. This is one of the nicest restorations that I have seen in a long time. If you have been looking for a Model A Phaeton 4-door open car this is one for you to consider. With the 12-volt system and a total restoration, you will want to call one of our sales associates to have him walk you around this beauty.
