NEW STREET BEAAST BUILD, 350CI, 700R4 TRANS, A/C, NICE SATIN BLACK PAINT

Guys used to build rods like this 1934 Ford 3-window coupe by necessity: paint was expensive so they left them in primer. With the resurgence in old-school rods, high-quality cars now offer suede finishes like this and look downright awesome, and few can wear it better than the '34 Ford.

Based on a Street Beast fiberglass body, this coupe has the right look and great proportions. The top is chopped, which is easy when you're making a fresh fiberglass mold, and it has a perfect rake to it. All the body panels are new, so you know there isn't any questionable history behind it, and while the satin black paint is pretty forgiving, they still did the work to make it straight. The doors fit well and close with a solid-sounding thunk and a removable hood gives good access to the engine bay and the vents continue the unfinished look that works so well here. Custom red pinstripes are proof that this rod is indeed finished and offer traditional designs on the deck lid and around the recessed license plate. '39 Ford taillights, shaved trim and door handles, and a blacked-out grille add to the old-school look and make it look pretty sinister, too.

Pop one of the suicide-style doors and you'll ... Please ask for the full description.

Pop one of the suicide-style doors and you'll find that this is indeed a fully finished rod that's a lot more than meets the eye. A custom black leather bench seat makes the most of the coupe's interior space and pleated door panels have a 1950s look that suits the car. Amenities include power windows, A/C, a GM tilt steering column, and an AM/FM/CD stereo system, so it's definitely more comfortable than the cars it was designed to emulate from decades ago. A billet gauge panel includes a full set of white-faced Auto Meter gauges with a suitably retro look and that billet steering wheel is extremely cool. Up top there's a monster tach and more custom pinstripes decorate the center of the dash. Like most of the early street rodders, this car lost its rumble seat and offers a fairly functional trunk that's neatly carpeted and offers access to the gas tank so there's no unsightly filler neck on the exterior.

The engine is a 325 horsepower 350 cubic inch V8 dressed to look great inside the satin black body. The red on the engine itself and the accessories matches the pinstripes, and there's plenty of chrome to make it sparkle. Again, nothing like the old days when they were held together with bailing wire and hope, but rather a professionally built chassis that can go cross-country at a moment's notice. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching manifold handle the intake side while block-hugging headers and Flowmaster mufflers give it a great sound. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission means it cruises at highway speeds without effort and actually pulls down decent fuel economy, even with 3.73 gears in the 8-inch Ford rear end. The front suspension is a Mustang II setup with power disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering while the rear end is held up with a set of air springs. New red steelies with trim rings and baby moon hubcaps nail the traditional look and carry 185/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rears for the perfect rake.

With a complete build book, this cool '34 Ford nails the old-school look with all the modern conveniences. Call today!
