WINDOW STICKER, WARRANTY CARDS, SALES INVOICE, CORRECT BRITTANY BLUE, A/C

Don't let the late-model wheels fool you, this is a clean little Mustang coupe that includes its original 289, unusual and attractive Brittany Blue paint, and enough upgrades to make you want to drive it every day. With Mustangs in the spotlight, even coupes are seeing nice gains, so if you've been wanting an affordable vintage pony, this might be a great opportunity.

Code Q Brittany Blue is an unusual color among early Mustangs, but given how it looks on this lovely little coupe, you have to wonder why. It's not a powder blue, but rather a strong metallic that seems to change as you walk around it and the light moves across the panels. It's definitely got a spectacular shine thanks to two-stage urethane paint, and since it's already a few years old, you don't have to worry about being the first one to put a scratch on it. A black vinyl roof is an unusual choice, particularly in this color, but it works well with the black wheels to give this earnest little Mustang a very aggressive look. Some nice chrome, polished stainless, and a classic Mustang grille all add to the well-maintained vibe of this coupe.

The two-tone blue interior is also how this car was spec'd originally and it looks ... Please ask for the full description.

The two-tone blue interior is also how this car was spec'd originally and it looks absolutely fantastic. Lots of new equipment and crisply detailed seat covers and door panels give it a very inviting air inside. A restored center console has bright woodgrained inserts and the storage "garage" in the center stack, and the steering wheel matches quite nicely. Options include factory A/C, which was finally integrated into the dash instead of tacked on underneath, as well as an AM/FM/iPod stereo cleverly stashed in the glove compartment with modern speakers throughout the passenger compartment. Blue carpets with vivid blue mats (yeah, there's a lot of blue here, but it totally works), and there's a fresh dash pad above the crisply restored gauges to tie it all together. The backs eat looks completely untouched and the trunk is so fresh that the wrinkles haven't even settled out of the new mats.

There's every reason to believe this is the original C-code 289 cubic inch V8 living under the hood. It's quite stock save for a few chrome dress-up pieces, and has that eager, bubbly feeling that made these torquey, small-displacement engines so popular. Ford Blue is on the block and air cleaner, while reproduction decals were used to add authenticity. The newer A/C compressor is a big upgrade over the factory's giant pump, and even in a coupe, the heavy-duty Monte Carlo bar and shock tower brace make a noticeable improvement in handling and feel. Backed by a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and there are 2.79 gears inside the pumpkin, so it's a superlative highway car. Racy-sounding Flowmaster mufflers make the most of the 289's output and while the underside isn't detailed, it's in good shape overall for being almost 50 years old. Blacked-out wheels come from a late-model Mustang and emulate the classic Torque Thrust look and update the early pony's handling with wide 225/50/17 Kumho performance radials.

This car also includes a ton of factory paperwork, including a window sticker, dealer invoice, warranty card, bill of sale, and early registration documents, so it's got an iron-clad history to back it up. If you've been looking for a value-priced Mustang with no excuses, this is it. Call today!
