REAL 138 SS CHEVELLE, 454CI BBC, 4 SPEED MANUAL, SLICK RED PAINT, FRONT DISCS

Sometimes what you need is a big honkin' hammer, and this fantastic 1967 Chevelle is going to make every car on the road look like a nail. With a stout 454 under the hood, a 4-speed manual, and a classic red-over-black color combination, this is the right tool for the job of going fast.

Red cars make don't make very good sleepers, but you'll undoubtedly find this Chevelle's high-profile look appealing. Of course, any car this nicely finished will tend to stand out, and I like that they went the extra mile with the bodywork, so it looks very good even up close. The early Chevelle offered a minimum of frills, and instead let the design speak for itself, from the flying buttresses that frame the rear window to the crease that runs along its flanks. Detailing is crisp, with a lot of time invested in block sanding the bodywork to get it as straight as possible before the two-stage urethane went on. A correct hood remains in place, complete with those finned inserts that don't do anything except look cool, and all the proper Super Sport badging has been fitted. Some of the chrome trim might be showing signs of age, but that's a pretty small nit to pick, and the overall effect is a classic ... Please ask for the full description.

Some of the chrome trim might be showing signs of age, but that's a pretty small nit to pick, and the overall effect is a classic performance look with a great stance.

Chevelles have always been famous for their upscale interiors, and this one is no exception. Fitted with handsome black seat covers in the original style, this Chevelle's interior is a great place to spend some time. The steering wheel is a gorgeous woodgrained piece, and the shifter wears a cue ball knob linked to a Hurst linkage. The factory only offered a basic instruments on the SS, so a set of Auto Meter mechanical temperature and oil pressure gauges were added underneath. New door panels, fresh seat covers, correct carpets, and a snug-fitting headliner give it a factory-fresh look inside, and a digital AM/FM/cassette stereo that was obviously designed to fit into the dash is a great way to get modern sounds with a vintage look. Open the trunk and you'll find a nicely finished cargo bay with correct spatter-finish paint.

The way this car rumbles, you know something big lives under the hood. Rebuilt to look stock, the 454 cubic inch big block makes this a very potent street machine. It looks pretty OEM at first glance, which is purely intentional, but upgrades include an Edelbrock carburetor and Performer 2.0 intake manifold, a mild camshaft, and an MSD ignition system that hides in plain sight. Chevy Orange paint, chrome big block valve covers, and an open-element air cleaner make it look great when you pop the hood, and it has been recently treated to a new chrome alternator and a fresh master cylinder and power brake booster. Climb underneath and you'll note that the Muncie 4-speed feeds a bulletproof 12-bolt and there's a recent Flowmaster exhaust system. Chrome Ridler wheels complete the look and wear 245/45/17 Continental performance radials all around.

Fast, nicely built, and with the perfect stance, this Chevelle is a legitimate predator that you can still show with pride. Call today!
