PHS DOCS, WARRANTY CARD, #'S MATCHING 400 MOTOR, AFTERMARKET A/C, NICE GTO

This is the kind of GTO you've always hoped to own: pedigreed and with matching-numbers, but not a trailer queen. An unusual color combination, but one that looks fantastic in person. And a few desirable upgrades that make it a joy to drive without changing the original personality. Quite honestly, you'll be hard-pressed to do better than this '67.

There's a neat story about this car's acquisition in the November 2012 issue of "The Legend" magazine, and the owner's enthusiasm is evident everywhere you look. Now the important thing about this Goat is that it's got all the big stuff right and you'll never have to make excuses for it. It's a real-deal GTO with a matching-numbers powertrain and yes, the code G Signet Gold is the car's original color. It was restored a few years ago so it's no longer a show car, but the fact that it spent its life in a warm climate, starting in Tennessee, then making its way to Michigan where it was restored, then to Utah, and finally Texas. Fit and finish are quite good, the paint shines up beautifully, and with a single orange pinstripe accenting the gently curving fender line, it definitely looks like a gentleman's hot rod. The chrome is in great shape and ... Please ask for the full description.

The chrome is in great shape and the unique GTO mesh grille and correct badges set this one apart from the clones and fakes.

When the car was acquired by the current owner, the interior was all gold, including the carpet and dash pad, which have since been replaced with black pieces that add some much-needed contrast to the car. Experts will note that this was also originally a column-shift car, per the PHS documentation, but a correct console and "His-and-Hers" shifter were located, restored, and installed to manage the transmission. Since this car was built to drive, aftermarket A/C was added and it does indeed chill the interior on the hottest Texas afternoons. There are also three Auto Meter auxiliary gauges under the dash, in addition to the original dials, plus an AM/FM/cassette head unit in the dash. Even an extra 12V power outlet was added for your GPS or phone. Other options include a factory electric clock and Soft-Ray tinted windshield, as well as the ultra-cool hood-mounted tach. The upholstery is in very good condition with very light wear on the gold bucket seats and the trunk is finished with a correct mat and a Pontiac Rally II wheel with full-sized redline radial spare.

The 400 cubic inch V8 and surrounding engine bay are a little flashier than stock, thanks mostly to that beautiful A/C system with a polished compressor and stainless steel lines. There's also a new aluminum radiator up front and some additional stainless hose sleeves on the radiator hoses. This is the original, numbers-matching engine, which has been restored using Pontiac Turquoise engine enamel and chrome air cleaner and valve covers, as original, so it looks and runs great. The TH400 3-speed automatic is also the original piece and the 10-bolt rear end is filled with 3.55 gears that are a good complement to the automatic transmission. There's a new Flowmaster exhaust system with X-pipe and the original Pontiac Rally wheels were replaced with vintage Keystone Kustom mags and 205/75/15 Hankook radials that give it a cool period look.

Heavily documented with PHS paperwork, a window sticker, and the magazine article, this is a quality GTO that's ready to enjoy. Call today!
