GMPP LS376 CRATE MOTOR, BUILT 4L70E, TONS OF UPGRADES, FULL RESTO MOD CAMARO

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS is one of the most well-executed pro-touring cars we've ever seen. Not only does it look gorgeous, but it offers fuel injected horsepower, a grippy suspension, and massive 4-wheel disc brakes, all combined with a bunch of comfort and convenience upgrades to create a car that only looks like a vintage F-body.

There's no argument that the 1969 Camaro is one of the best-looking performance cars of the era, and in RS trim it's particularly appealing. This one wears a coat of modern PPG Daytona Sunset Orange paint, which actually looks like it could have been on the options list in 1969 and is definitely a proper Camaro color. The sheetmetal is beautifully restored, laser-straight, and that paint really is spectacular. They added a cowl-induction hood, which always looks right, and both the front and rear spoilers are factory-spec, so they fit like they should. The RS-spec hidden headlights are now actuated by electric motors for reliability and proper badges have been installed wherever necessary. The running lights and taillights are LED units that look slick yet hide in plain sight, so if you like the stock look, this car totally nails it.

It's inside where you can see that some serious upgrades have taken place. Those Procar black leather buckets are a lot more supportive in the turns than the original chairs, although their pleated pattern has a somewhat vintage look. The steering wheel is a modern take on the original 3-spoke unit, now with a fat leather-wrapped rim, and the gauges are Auto Meter Ultra-Lites for all the major functions. You'll note that the original console offers a horseshoe shifter (our favorite), but there are now four forward gears instead of three, but we'll get to the transmission in a moment. Vintage Air A/C was added and it's effective with R134a refrigerant inside and a tilt column makes it easy to get comfortable in those seats. There's also an AM/FM/CD stereo system and a ton of 3M aircraft-spec sound-deadening material so you only hear what you want to hear inside. The trunk is nicely upholstered and features an Optima battery and a late-model Cadillac CTS spare tire that will fit on all four corners and clear the giant brakes. Nice!

Mechanically, this sucker's a modern car. The engine is a GMPP LS376 crate motor that's making 435 horsepower at the rear wheels. With factory-style fuel injection and a custom wiring harness by Speartech Fuel Injection, it starts instantly and pulls smoothly from any speed. The greatest compliment we can pay any car like this is that the installation looks OEM, and that's definitely the case here, from the billet serpentine belt drive to the coils mounted up top. The transmission is a built 4L70E 4-speed automatic overdrive by Phoenix Transmissions feeding a Moser 12-bolt with 3.73s on an Auburn Posi and forged 33-spline axles. A custom driveshaft ties it all together. The suspension is augmented with tubular A-arms, subframe connectors, a power rack-and-pinion steering system, and adjustable coil-over shocks, all from Chris Alston, so it feels completely modern and has insanely high limits. Giant Wilwood disc brakes measure 13-inches up front and 12-inches in back, so you get Corvette-level stopping power and the exhaust system sounds amazing thanks to stainless Magnaflow Mufflers. Those 17-inch Budnik wheels are exactly the right size for a vintage Camaro and carry 225/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear Goodyear Eagle radials.

Professionally built and insanely competent, this Camaro delivers exactly what its awesome looks promise. Call us now for all the details!
