1973 is the last of the great first-generation Mustangs. And it's the original pony car's history that really gets us excited about a V8 convertible like this that feels so authentic it could qualify for time capsule status.
It's pretty hard not to love a bright red Mustang convertible. Of course a recent professional respray gives this one the kind of luster and shine that really made you stop and take notice. But beyond great paint are some show-stopping details. The blacked-out hood and hockey stripes not only emphasize this convertible's long and low bodylines, but it also really helps unite a color scheme. After all, these black accents match so well with the new convertible top, new front valance, rear spoiler, and the custom American Racing Toru Thrust wheels. It gives this convertible an overall theme that balances sophistication and aggression that's reflected in everything from the sparkling chrome trim to the NACA hood scoops.
Open the door, and you'll see exactly why this is a cool time capsule. It's hard for a convertible to still look this fresh after all these decades, but that just tells you about the level of care and maintenance. The factory-correct Medium Ginger ... Please ask for the full description.

The factory-correct Medium Ginger seats with Ford's special comfort weave insert is something that could only come from the 1970s, and the condition looks like the day this one left the Dearborn assembly plant. All the other pieces from the carpets to the dash pad also look new, and that's because they are! Ford was about adding luxury to mustangs in '73, and this one absolutely shows it with features like power windows and a power folding roof with glass window. It's also a desirable center console car with a full gauge package, including working clock. It feels so original that you even still have an 8-track deck! There is one upgrade you can't see, but you'll absolutely love. This is a factory air conditioning car, so you can keep the top down all year long. But even better is this has been converted to R-134a so it is far easier to maintain and service.
Under the hood this Mustang has been upgraded to a 351 Cleveland V8. Its appearance keeps to H-code two-barrel carburetor standards with the big air cleaner and Ford blue paint on the block, so it stays in-line with this convertible's time capsule atmosphere. The real upgrades are on the pieces you don't often see like the long tube headers for better performance of the new stainless steel dual exhaust. On the road this one feels like a true highway champ with C4 three-speed automatic connecting to a Ford nine-inch rear end running a versatile 3.00 ratio. The handling is downright sporty with power steering, front disc brakes, and pricey Nexen performance tires.
Documented with the original owner's manual and maintenance records this is a well-sorted classic Mustang you can pick up for less than the price of a new ragtop. This pony is one of the nicest and affordable classic companions you'll ever have. Call today!!!
