You know that when Ford revived the Shelby Mustang, it was only a matter of time before the famous Hertz GT350H made a comeback, too. With only 500 Shelby GT-H convertibles built in 2007, this is a fantastic pedigreed pony that captures the original's look and feel, as well as the "rent-a-racer" vibe that make the originals so popular.
As in 1965, the Hertz cars offered a distinctive combination, black with gold stripes, and aside from perhaps the original Wimbledon White cars with blue stripes, no Shelby is more distinctive. Of course Ford, Shelby, and Hertz knew exactly what they were doing when they built this car, designing it to resonate with Shelby fans and capture some long-overdue brand equity. This is #152 out of 500 built and shows just 35,516 original miles. The black paint shines up beautifully even with the mileage and few years it has spent on the car. Special features include the simple Shelby-style front grilles, hood pins, fog lamps in the lower valence, SHELBY lettering and badges, and a special gas cap, all of which are designed to echo the past. It's interesting to note that there was a special option on the original Ford window sticker called the "GT Upfitters Package" ... Please ask for the full description.

It's interesting to note that there was a special option on the original Ford window sticker called the "GT Upfitters Package" that was specifically designed for Shelby builds, allowing them to add details to make the cars special.
The interior is standard Ford Mustang with dark charcoal leather buckets and every available option. The brushed aluminum dash panel brightens up the otherwise monochromatic interior and you'll note a special Shelby plaque in the center of the dash highlighting the specialness of the Shelby. You'll also find a no smoking button, surely a Hertz addition (they didn't want anyone screwing up their "investment") as well as features like a Shaker stereo system, A/C, power windows and locks, and a complete array of factory gauges with a retro look. Shelby added the sleek light bar overhead, which certainly enhances the look of the convertible when the top is down, as well as a set of SHELBY-logo floor mats (a second set of plain mats is also included). You know it all works like it should, even the power top, which stows itself with the touch of a button and folds up so neatly that a boot is almost unnecessary.
For the most part, Shelby left the engine alone, adding only a cold air intake, a custom X-pipe, and a special tune on the computer to help eke out a few extra ponies. But for Hertz, reliability mattered, so keeping it mostly stock was a smart move, especially in a car that had 325 horsepower right out of the box. The engine bay also includes a custom strut tower brace that works in conjunction with the heavily revised Shelby-spec suspension to really deliver an improvement you can feel in the seat of your pants: springs, shocks, sway bars, and other parts make this Mustang a very tidy handler. And like the original GT350H, this one uses an automatic transmission to maximize user-friendliness, although it's been augmented with a set of 3.55 gears out back to really sharpen up throttle response. Black Mustang wheels are an awesome look and they carry 17-inch BFGoodrich performance radials all around.
Documented with a copy of this cars original window sticker, a copy of an original Shelby Hertz upgrade sheet, and the original owner's manual, this is a rare, fun, and history-laden late-model Mustang that will always resonate with Shelby fans. Call today!
