302 CI FRAME-OFF BLACK ON BLACK, LEATHER POWER BUCKETS, TILT, PS, PB, R134 A/C,

In the пїЅ50s, the Ford F100 was simply a rugged pickup truck designed to put in a full dayпїЅs work without complaint. Today, theyпїЅre highly-sought collectables that make fantastic rods, especially when theyпїЅre as trick as this black-on-black пїЅ56.

Built two years ago, this black stunner captures everything thatпїЅs great about the FordпїЅs design. Creating a cab-forward design before there even was such a thing, Ford discovered that they could carry more payload if they shifted the axles around. The result was one of the best-looking pickup trucks ever built. This one has been completely rebuilt from top to bottom, and bathed in inky black paint that is so dark and smooth that other black cars parked next to it look dusty. Fit and finish are exemplary, and not a single Ford curve or corner was modified to get this look. Even the original badges on the sides of the hood remain in place, fully restored and glittering, complementing the dazzling front grille and simple bumpers. Out back, the bed is fully refinished with natural oak boards, a custom subwoofer enclosure, and a snug-fitting tonneau cover that effectively creates the worldпїЅs biggest wood-lined trunk.

Description

A black leather interior contrasts with a custom-fabricated oak center console the way the black paint contrasts with the pickup bed, and continues the theme quite nicely. Power buckets are both supportive and stylish, flanking the center console, which also features a black armrest, the controls for the AM/FM/CD stereo system, and A/C controls. The original dash is still there, but the instruments are slick black-faced Auto Meter units in a black anodized panel that looks incredibly slick. A tilt column makes it easy to get comfortable behind that leather-wrapped steering wheel and all the power amenities are included.

It's always nice to see a Ford engine in a Ford vehicle, and the snarky 302 cubic inch V8 under the hood of this one provides a lot of performance and a great muscle car soundtrack to go with it. This truck was obviously built to cruise, so reliability and service access were paramount during the build, but it also looks pretty darned good. Finned valve covers are a retro touch, and you canпїЅt go wrong by adding Edelbrock gear to any American V8. The A/C system uses R134a refrigerant, so itпїЅs readily available and affordable for future servicing, and the cooling system is oversized to help control temperatures in extreme situations. Shorty headers feed a dual exhaust system custom fabricated just for this truck and featuring Flowmaster mufflers. While youпїЅre looking around under there, also note the C4 3-speed automatic and 9-inch rear, as well as the power steering and fat anti-sway bars added to the original F100 suspension. Classic chrome 5-spoke wheels wear Ford-logo spinners and a set of 245/60/15 front and 295/50/15 rear Dunlop radials.

A beautifully built, fully-sorted pickup with details that will make everyone stop and admire it. What could be better? Call today!
