You'd almost swear that the factory gave this one the modern Coyote V8, adjustable air ride suspension, luxury leather interior, and push-button overdrive transmission. This is a $200k build with barely any miles on it since completion. It's the product of a restoration where quality was always chosen over cost. You instantly see that in the way black paint loves to radiate in the sunshine like it was made from onyx. And because they were using this kind of high-gloss application, they made sure the sheetmetal looked like it was fresh from Henry Ford's factory before the first drop of black went down. And there's a lot more here that really tells you how thoughtful the build was. For example, the fenders are new Dennis Carpenter units that do a great job of making the modern 18-inch Raceline Fugitive alloys look like they belonged here from day one. And the more time you spend with this, the more you see all the great details. The full-length trim looks like an unbroken line; the Bob Drake grille is crisp; and the bumpers are so mirror-like that the ladies will use them to check their makeup. Yes, they really took the time to get this one to an award-worthy level.

Open the door to more awesome details. The thoughtfulness starts with the seats. They were borrowed from a late-model Mustang (a nod to this car's power) but you can barely recognize them. They have been fully redone in a supple saddle leather with an intricate stitch pattern that make these modern conformable seats look quite vintage. This coordinates with the custom door panels, center console, parcel shelf, and even the trunk lining for a full uniform presentation. More of the thoughtfulness is in the way they laid out this interior. It still has a great vintage feeling, but you have all the modern comfort features you could want. This includes a push-button transmission, Ididit tilt steering column, full modern Dakota Digital VHX gauges, cup holders, and an AM/FM/CD/XM stereo with USB and Bluetooth. They even integrated the full air ride controls between the seats. But our favorite addition has to be the air conditioning. There's no way of disguising the upgrade under the hood. The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 is such a modern fuel-injected powerhouse, that it's what you get in a brand-new Ford Mustang GT today! There's less than 30k miles on the motor, and just like the rest of this coupe, it's an awesome upgrade that has been installed with factory-level care. It fires up with the eagerness that a modern machine should, and the upgraded header-fed Flowmaster dual exhaust makes a powerful sound. The four-speed automatic transmission is ideal for both quick kick-downs into power and overdrive comfort. The limited-slip rear end has the same versatility. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see a strong power-coated frame. Plus, there are suspension upgrades, like the Heidts tubular arm front suspension and triangulated four-link rear. Add in power steering, Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes, and modern performance tires, and this is the fresh custom that's great to enjoy near or far.
