Q-CODE 428CJ, CORRECT COLORS & OPTIONS PER MARTI, COMPLETE RESTO, SUPER NICE!

With Shelbys and Boss Mustangs now commanding solid six-figure price tags, the market on awesome big block Mach 1s is on the move. This Wimbledon White sports roof offers a Q-Code, brutal 428 Cobra Jet engine, and a quality restoration that's perfect for cruising the streets this summer, and its sporty yet luxurious nature makes it a wonderful travelling companion no matter what you're doing.

There's not much argument that the '69 Mach 1 is one of the best-looking Mustangs of all time. Aggressive, perfectly proportioned, and with details like the hood scoop and those cool quarter panel vents, it looks every bit the ideal muscle car. It appears that Wimbledon White with a blacked-out hood is the car's original color, and it was repainted a few years ago to a standard that's better than the factory ever could have done in 1969. Of course, that satin black hood treatment, red Mach 1 stripes along the flanks, and the matching wing and window slats out back all add to the predatory look, and there's no question that a 428 Mustang is a formidable machine. The chrome bumpers have been re-plated, and all the emblems and badges are either original or exact reproductions. Early Mustangs don't get ... Please ask for the full description.

Early Mustangs don't get much better-looking than this.

Red Clarion Knit high-back buckets anchor a well-restored interior, which again is like brand new. The Mach 1 was one of those unique cars that was comfortable anywhere, and that's readily apparent inside where it's an easy combination of luxury and sporty. There's a purity to that philosophy that is immensely appealing, and it's easy to imagine the big block at full song, yet still being comfortable and unruffled inside. Seat covers are correct and the door panels and carpets are all in great condition. The gauges offer crisp faces and operate as they should, with the original AM radio in the dash delivering some modicum of entertainment. The trunk offers a correct mat, and a peek underneath will reveal solid floors, so you can buy with confidence.

While the Boss 429 might have received all the glory, there's not much doubt that if you wanted a fast Mustang in 1969, a 428CJ was the better choice. Like all automakers, Ford was playing games with horsepower ratings, pinning this one at 335 horsepower, but performance results and subsequent testing suggest that the real number is closer to 400. The engine was rebuilt to stock specifications and nicely detailed. The block and heads have been painted Ford Blue, and there's no missing that cool chrome air cleaner that feeds the big V8 air. Finned aluminum valve covers are a '60s performance trademark, and details like the hoses and factory markers under the hood are correct reproductions. The car's dual nature is most apparent in the driveline, where a heavy-duty C6 automatic feeds a set of 3.25 gears, so this one is an easy cruiser that's just a quick right foot away from being outrageously fast. The car is solid underneath, although no longer detailed for show, but it does show correct red oxide primer and original markings which is rare to find in this price range. Styled steel wheels are correct and wear a set of 225/70/14 BFGoodrich white-letter radials.

This is a fantastic opportunity to own the big block Mach 1 you've always dreamed about, and you'll love its split personality. A great investment, this car is priced to sell! Call today!
