For sheer thrills on the road, nothing beats a Shelby Cobra. Built to look like a traditional Cobra, this Factory Five replica delivers big V8 thrills with razor-sharp handling, wrapped in a package that's finished in a brilliant, modern paint job.
Factory Five's fiberglass has become some of the best in the industry, and it's worth noting that this car is built from 100% new components, same for the engine and transmission, which are fully rebuilt. However, even the best fiberglass needs expert prep, so this one received hours and hours of sanding and smoothing before the radiant metallic red paint was applied. Fit and finish are far above average, and it's obvious that this was not just done by an amateur, but by professionally, and they really knew what they were doing. The doors fit well, the hood sits flush, it feels rock solid going down the road, and as you can see, the paint is beyond beautiful. Factory Five logos nod at this car's professional quality, while polished roll bars, bright side pipes, and clean fender vents make for an excellent contrast against the vivid paint.
Factory Five logos nod at this car's professional quality, while polished roll bars, bright side pipes, and clean fender vents make for an excellent contrast against the vivid paint. Faux 17'' Halibrand Knockoffs with polished lips complete the look. And with less than 3,800 miles on the clock, it's been driven just enough to make sure everything works like it should.
Where so many Cobra replicas go wrong is by trying to modernize the interior. This one, on the other hand, has just the right amount of modern touches, but maintains an authentic look with leather low-back buckets just like the originals. There's a forward-canted shift lever, but it's a modern Tremec piece that now controls five gears instead of four, and a proper wood-trimmed steering wheel keeps with the authentic theme. Crisp white-on-black instruments do a good impersonation of the original Smiths gauges, and it includes an analog clock and speedometer with a GPS indicated digital readout which is a nice addition. Other details include a row of toggle switches for auxiliary systems, dual cup holders in the console, heated seats, and a battery cut-off switch. Five-point Simpson belts were installed for safety so you can be confident in remaining secure in those heated seats for spirited sprints.
There's a lot to be said for putting a small block in your Cobra, and the benefits it pays to handling and braking can't be over-stated. This one uses a built 351 cubic inch Windsor and fully dressed in Cobra regalia to look authentic. You can build big power in these engines today, and more cubic inches doesn't necessarily mean more power. Instead, combined with the Tremec TKO500 5-speed manual transmission, this one is a potent street machine that can cruise effortlessly. With a Demon carb atop an Edelbrock intake, and a MSD ignition, it certainly snarls like a real Cobra, and has been dressed with 'Cobra' branded valve covers. Koni coil-overs, A-arms and rack-and-pinion steering handle the front end, with the rear supported by a traditional 4-link that frames an 8.8 inch rear with 3.55 gears. Four-wheel discs are important considering the car's performance, and sticky 245/45/17 front and 315/35/17 rear Z-rated Nitto NT555 tires putting the power to the road or track.
This is a fully-sorted, fresh, and fast Cobra replica for less than the cost of building your own. The paint is beautiful and the quality is excellent, this car has already received many compliments from our employees and showroom visitors. Call today!
