Even with Ford's new Bronco, GM hasn't returned to the full-size two-door SUVs to the market, and so 4x4s like this 1988 GMC Jimmy became even more cherished classics. And because it's also a later example, you get great features like fuel injection, an overdrive transmission, and a comfortable A/C interior. But it never loses the proper V8 power or removable fiberglass roof that has made these sought-after icons.
The meaty tires and tall stance is the definition of outdoor elegance on the big GMC's squared-off bodywork. Given the capabilities of these trucks, it wouldn't be surprising if this one lived most of its life off-road... but its exceptional condition tells us it has seen far less action. In fact, we've been told stories about how this has had long-term ownership and solid investments. As a result, it's impressively clean and straight. It also helps that there was a quality respray only a few years ago. The two-tone gray and black looks great, especially with the distinctive red pinstripe to separate the colors. The trim and chrome appear to be original and in good condition, and there was even a trailer hitch added so this one can be a distinct way to two the toys.

Description
This is an upper-level Sierra trim, which means this one has some of the most creature comforts. You recognize this the moment you feel the relaxing high-back bucket seat. The plush cloth feels excellent on these, and it's the same way on the rear seats and door panels. The grippy/classic steering wheel, tilt steering column, and factory center console means you'll love long trips behind the wheel. Plus, the cold-blowing R134a air conditioning, power windows, power locks, cruise control, upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo w/Bluetooth keep you comfortable everywhere from the interstates to the trail. But we really know your true reason for loving a Jimmy like this is the idea that on the right day, you can remove a few bolts and have a complete open rear section for a very cool convertible pickup.
Under the hood is a fuel-injected version of GM's robust 350 cubic-inch V8. The total mileage is currently unknown on this classic, but the engine bay has quite a fresh look because we're told it was rebuilt within the last few years. And the way this one fires up and runs reaffirms a solid investment in this powerhouse. A robust motor like this works great with the two-speed 4x4 transfer case, electronic locking front hubs, and new BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A tires for a great go-anywhere off-roader. But as much as this all sounds like a great way to drive through the dirt, the 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, and front disc brakes make this a pleasant 4x4 for all occasions.
The sale comes complete with the original dealer invoice, owner's manual, and even a replacement tailgate. This is a properly maintained Jimmy that does everything right. So at this price, we know it will be leaving us soon. Call today!!!
