With proper V8 power, detailed vintage flair, and popular patina styling, this 1955 Oldsmobile 88 is a terrific and unique vintage cruiser.
This year's Olds 88 had a ton of style. It starts up front with the bumper and integrated grille that form the entire lower half of the car. And we love how the O-L-D-S-M-O-B-I-L-E lettering is lined up like a billboard across the middle. There's artful trim showcasing the design of the profile. And there's just the right hint of tailfin in the rear. And while all of this is clean and complete, nothing is ever too shining just because the car's full theme is a patina cruiser. But the worn-in style has some added thoughtfulness that you may not expect at first glance. For example, the paint is really a later update where the patina is a well-done simulation. So you have the worn-in barn find appearance with comprehensive coverage. Even the weather-stripping feels newer and pliable to seal up the car nicely. And it blends the vintage cruiser attitude with the right touch of modern style. That's why you have everything from dual fender spotlights (currently for display) to 18-inch Ridler wheels on a lowered suspension.

The interior continues the unique style. The exterior white returns and now it's joined by a tasteful navy blue. This is the product of an investment later in life, and so you have good fundamentals, like newer carpeting and a great headliner. But it absolutely keeps the classic style...with a custom twist. The attractive square pattern with contrast white stitching on the seats and door panels is borrowed from the 1955 Chevrolet Del Ray. So it's era correct with just the right touch of cruiser uniqueness. The Olds globe steering wheel is thin and has that kind of instant sense of grip that we seemed to have lost over the years. As you gaze over all that's in front of you, the bright elements on the wheel, speedometer, and so much more just seem to remind you of the style priority that was in the '50s.
Oldsmobile's famous Rocket V8 lives under the hood, and we know you'll love pointing to that "Rocket" proclamation looking bright in yellow against the block's distinct green. This is an era-correct 324 cubic-inch V8 with plenty of vintage style. But there have also been the right investments in maintenance, including newer hoses, a newer belt, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. It starts easily, idles nicely, and runs smoothly to be a good classic cruiser. Plus, you have good driving features, like the Hydramatic automatic transmission, power brakes, some newer bushings, and the grip of modern tires afforded by the wheel upgrade.
This Oldsmobile does a great job of delivering distinction inside and out in a true cruiser package. So don't miss this deal, call today!
