Sometimes your classic can also be a workhorse. This 1951 Ford F1 could just as easily pick up cattle feed as it could go for a Sunday morning pleasure drive.
You know you want this truck. It has those original good looks that can instantly transport you to another time, but just like a tough grandfather, aged does not mean frail. This pickup has the old school rugged design that looks like it wants teach modern pickups a bare-knuckles lesson. You know this truck can still haul home this weekend's lumberyard load (heck, there's enough real wood in the bed that it IS this weekend's lumber run!) The bright Vermillion Red paint is about the only boisterous thing on the body. It's a very nice contrast to the big white grille whose chunky, industrial appearance seems indestructible, and the small accents on the hood break the paint up very well. Ok, you probably want this Ford for all those reasons, plus it's at a value price that barely buys a new base model F-150 today.

You know this truck can still haul home this weekend's lumberyard load (heck, there's enough real wood in the bed that it IS this weekend's lumber run!) The bright Vermillion Red paint is about the only boisterous thing on the body. Ok, you probably want this Ford for all those reasons, plus it's at a value price that barely buys a new base model F-150 today.
Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. There's plenty of bright red dash space, thanks to an uncluttered feel, that only has to make room for the heater. Muddy work boots are not a problem because the rubber floor mat means this cleanup is as simple as a garden hose. Despite this utilitarian feel, there have been a couple of nice upgrades, such as a new set of Sun Pro gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. The vinyl bench seat has been updated for a comfortable cloth insert. But this Ford's blue-collar roots are immediately known when you grab three-spoke wheel and feel the groves of all the workers who relied on trucks like this for decades. There is no radio, but it will hardly be missed because this pickup will make you want to whistle a farmer's tune on every road trip.
If you're not into making your own music, there is one other sound that never gets old. The 239 cubic-inch Ford flathead V8 gives off an industrial symphony of simplicity. It is a classic rhythmic roar that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. The three-on-the-tree transmission shifts crisply and the brakes have been properly maintained. The modern tires are hardly noticed thanks to the original solid color-keyed wheels with chrome hubcaps. In the end, the full experience of being behind the wheel feels like rolling history.
It's up to you to choose this truck's fate. Will it be the most original pickup at the car show? Will it be the best looking errand cruiser around town? Or both? Call Now!!
