SOUTHERN 4X4 TRUCK, 350 V8, 700R4, LONGTUBES, PWR FRNT DISCS, PWR STEER, LIFT!!

We sell a lot of trucks, but this 1965 GMC C10 4x4 grabbed our attention more than most. First, it's a relatively rare GMC, which is a nice change from the usual Chevys and Fords. Secondly, it's a 4x4, and even though it's got a frame swap underneath, the impact of this tall '60s pickup is hard to deny. And finally, it's still fully functional as a real truck, making it the hobby vehicle that can make itself useful.

The two-tone white over blue color combination works rather well, combining tradition and style in a way that makes perfect sense on a '60s pickup. The GMC is similar enough to the Chevrolets that most folks would get them confused, but we like the unusual grille and twin headlights up front, which seem to work better with the crisply folded hood and that groove that seems to wrap around the entire truck. The finish has a nice shine that's not too perfect, and if you wanted to take it up a notch, a professional wet sand and buff would really wake things up. On the other hand, if it's too nice, it stops being useful as a truck, and with the strong-running engine and 4x4 capabilities, you probably want to reserve yourself some off-road time. All the original trim remains in ... Please ask for the full description.

All the original trim remains in place, too, including a set of chrome bumpers and shiny stainless along the flanks, and we really dig the big, bold GMC letters in the center of the grille. And speaking of useful, the heavy-duty bed is protected with a spray-in bedliner and that little trap door you see is the filler cap for the brand new fuel cell underneath.

It's mostly 1965 inside, although the original sticky vinyl has given way to comfortable cloth that makes this pickup feel a lot more civilized. The blue and white theme continues everywhere, with painted door panels, dashboard, and even the headliner is simply white steel, so no worries about long-term durability. The floors are covered in low-maintenance rubber mats that are particularly nice if you're out in the mud and happen to get some on your shoes. A late-model steering column fits neatly and uses a stock steering wheel, and the three simple gauges are large and easy to read, perfect for a working-class truck like this. A Sony AM/FM/cassette radio has been neatly installed in the center of the dash and the shifter just below it is for the 2-speed transfer case.

The mechanicals are reportedly taken from an '80s Chevy Blazer, and the 350 cubic inch V8 that provides the motivating force is certainly up to the task. With a polished high-rise intake, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and a set of long-tube headers, it makes plenty of power to get this big hauler moving, and there's an equal amount of torque that really helps when the going gets tough. It starts quickly and easily, even when cold, and it's quite tidy under the hood, showing few signs of off-road use. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive unit, so even with the tall tires and gears, it's a pleasing highway cruiser that never seems to be working too hard. Glasspack mufflers sound great and the lift kit gives it a great look that turns heads everywhere it goes. Handsome factory-style Rally wheels have been painted white for a retro look and they're wrapped in giant Goodyear Wrangler off-road radials.

This is an easy truck to like, especially at this price. Nicely built, with a great powerplant that makes it fun to drive, it's a truck that delivers the best of both worlds without asking for much in return. Call today!
