DROP TOP TRUE XR7 CONVERTIBLE, 351CI MOTOR, AUTO TRANS, GREAT COLOR COMBO, COOL!

So you want a drop-top classic, but you also want something rare and luxurious? This 1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible gives you all of this with V8 power and a value price.

A bold blue body with a refined tan convertible top just seems to deliver on the sporty sophistication you want from a Cougar XR7. This was part of a grand tradition at Mercury of offering serious style, and you see it everywhere from the waterfall grille to the form-fitting rear bumper with integrated lights. And despite this appeal, the upscale XR7 convertible is quite rare with barely over 1,900 examples produced this year. This example looks quite good with a glossy finish and crisp body lines. But the overall appeal is that this one doesn't take itself too seriously, and so you can really enjoy it out on the road. After all, those upgraded 17-inch alloys allow you to fit better modern tires.

If you like the look of blue and tan on the outside, then you are going to love the interior. There is a distinct blue on the carpet, door panels, and dash. Plus, the recovered tan upholstery harmonizes nicely with the wood-like trim. There are terrific driver details like high-back front bucket seats, an armrest ... Please ask for the full description.

If you like the look of blue and tan on the outside, then you are going to love the interior. There is a distinct blue on the carpet, door panels, and dash. Plus, the recovered tan upholstery harmonizes nicely with the wood-like trim. There are terrific driver details like high-back front bucket seats, an armrest center console, and full gages with a large speedo and tach. This is even a factory air conditioning car (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) And this really feels like a well-preserved time capsule, right down to the toggle switches and working dash lights. In fact, the only upgrade you are likely to notice is the AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input, and that just gives you better driving music. And if that didn't already convince you that this was a great cruiser, then check out the rear power windows features. It works well with the power convertible top to make sure opening this one up to the world is a nearly effortless task.

Open the hood and you'll see an engine bay that looks quite correct. The first thing you'll notice is the big blue air cleaner on the Cleveland 351 V8 motor that still has its correct callout. It has been well-respected just like the rest of the car. And newer items like the coil, hoses, plugs, and wires help keep it a solid cruiser. Add in the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes, and this is the convertible that's easy for any day of the week.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and a stock set of wheels and tires. This is premium cruising distinction for a terrific price. Call today!!!
