The 1493 cc inline-four under the hood produced more torque than the earlier 1275 cc unit, which now made it better suited to American tastes. Add this to better gearing, and this was an improved lightweight car with an entertaining performance. This motor was given newer items like the valve cover gasket, plugs, and other maintenance items to keep it a strong runner. It even has an updated aluminum intake and a Weber carburetor. And the best part of the Midget is the feeling of control that comes from the combination of the four-speed gearbox, direct nimble steering, and front disc brakes.
