Close your eyes and imagine an awesome custom-built street machine. It starts with a 1948 Ford convertible body... Wait, no... A rarer, and more premium Mercury version. Then add high-gloss metallic paint. Give it a fuel-injected V8 upgrade, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and a custom A/C interior. Best of all, you don't have to imagine this amazing package, because it's right in front of you!
The golden glow of the paint really is terrific on this car. It does a great job of setting a premium tone with its metallic sparkle, and the high-gloss shine loves to show off the curves of the sheet metal. Mercury shared some of the iconic Ford's style, but they also had a ton more brightwork to showcase their more premium side. So it's great to see a shining presentation of the intricate chrome front end, sweeping fender trim, form-hugging rocker brightwork, and the cool wraparound tail lights. Having these factory elements in place combined with custom pieces like the sport mirror, dual exhaust tips, and shiny American Racing Torq Thrust 15-inch wheels give this drop-top an undeniable presence everywhere from the cruise-in to the car show.

The beige roof fits well and looks nice, and beneath it is a full custom gray interior. So this one looks attractive with the top up or down (power top currently inoperable). And as you look further inside, you can see a car that was really made for cruising. The upgraded sets have a nice pattern and a soft velour. The front is particularly attractive with a folding center console, shoulder seatbelts, and power adjusting. Cold-blowing air conditioning, provisions for power windows, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input make for a comfortable cruiser for everyone. Plus, you know it's a true driver's car with upgrades like a Flaming River sports steering wheel, a tilt column, and a full Auto Meter gauge upgrade.
One look in the engine bay, and you know this is far more power than what came from the factory 70+ years ago. But even with this upgrade, it still keeps the Ford connection with the fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8. This is a desirable motor for its level of power and torque. Plus, it has the right supporting features for a great cruiser, like an Optima red top battery, MSD billet distributor, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans. You even have a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. There's also an upgraded tubular A-arm front suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and maintenance records. There are some details you may want to restore, like the power operation of the convertible top or passenger power windows. But overall, what you find absolutely striking is how you have an impressive premium cruiser that has everything from extra shine to extra V8 power. It's true cruiser distinction that you just know needs to go home with you. Call today!!!
