Car collections are all about uniqueness and having something that not everyone else does. So when a car like this 1964 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible comes along, one thing that is certain is that it won't last long. Being the first year of the 442 is a great selling point, to begin with, but add to that the rarity of also being a drop-top variant, and we have one of less than 450 of these to have been believed to exist.

Fully repainted in Holiday Red, this car's vibrant exterior is complemented by a white canvas top and a clean stock-style black vinyl interior. The black and silver-trimmed dashboard is highlighted by an AM radio, 120-mph linear speedometer, two-spoke steering wheel, and console-mounted tachometer mounted just beyond the T-bar-handled shifter.

Under the hood, we find a 5.4-liter L79 330 cubic-inch engine which, when stock, made an SAE gross 310 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. Dual Rochester four-barrel carburetors give this 442 its “dual-quad” setup that bands like the Beach Boys sang about. That power is then sent through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission before heading out to a factory ten-bolt rear end.
