This 1961 Ford Thunderbird has an awesomely distinctive style inside and out. And since you also have proper V8 power, luxury amenities, and a supple ride, this is the eye-catching custom coupe that's a true cruiser.
We're told this came from an NBA player's collection only about a year ago. And this car has the exact kind of style that comes from when an enthusiast also has the funds to be a bit different. So not only is the dark metallic blue a custom color, but it also was applied to pieces like the bumpers. Eliminating some of the chrome gives this classic a more modern style, and this looks especially good in this generation T-Bird. We've always admired how well the bumpers fit into the design before, but now it really shows you how integrated they were by basically disappearing into the overall sleek appearance. And the brightwork was not totally eliminated. It's now used more sparingly to draw added attention to unique elements like the hood scoop trim, hardtop base, and jet-like rear fenders. Plus, we especially love the full-length trim that also helps hide the door handle. Overall it's the ideal mix of vintage and upgraded, and you see that everywhere from the fender ... Description
Overall it's the ideal mix of vintage and upgraded, and you see that everywhere from the fender skirts to the black 15-inch American Racing wheels.
The black wheels give the exterior a touch of darkness, and it was no accident. Because there's a similar blue with black color theme inside. We like this one for the way it looks good while still being easy to share with family and friends. And with the large size and amenities like power windows and a retro-style AM/FM stereo, this one is great for everyone. But in a personal luxury cruiser like this, the driver is the one that matters the most. The dash has a wraparound design, and the gauges are crisp and clear. Your individual bucket seat even power adjusts. Plus, if you love a good vintage ride, you'll appreciate the little things - everything from the working dome light to the swing-away steering column.
The engine bay has a terrific look of a clean investment, and in fact, we were told this powerhouse was rebuilt in 2018. The big blue block, golden valve covers, matching air grabber, and overall tidy setup show the right kind of care. And the way this one fires up and runs reaffirms that it's not just the custom interior and exterior that have received attention over the years. This big 390 V8 inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with an authoritative hum out of the dual exhaust that seems perfect for this mature T-Bird. The Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and newer tires (2021) all work in harmony to help keep the ride luxurious.
Complete with service manuals, this is an impressive Thunderbird from day one, especially because the price is so exceptionally affordable. So no matter if you want this for a SEMA-level build or just cruise this sleekly distinct coupe as-is, you can't go wrong with such a cool custom. Call today!!!
