Description
One look at this car, and it's hard not to notice the engine instantly, so why fight it? The Ford Racing valve covers hint at the fact that this isn't your great-grandfather's automobile. Coded to be a 1971-74 302 Windsor 2-bolt main small block, this particular 5.0 is said to be stroked out to 347 cubic inches. Topping that engine is a single 4-barrel Edelbrock 1405 carburetor. Exhaust gasses are sent packing by way of a set of long tube headers and, ultimately, out a trick set of side pipes.
Power is sent from the engine through a three-speed C4 automatic transmission and on through this Model T's 8.8-inch rear end where big P255/60R-15 rubber sits out back, and hot-rod-skinny P185/70R-14 tires handle turning duties as best they can. There are disc brakes at both the front and rear to help haul this T down and out of harm's way in a hurry.
Hop inside this fun bucket, and you could literally hop in, but we suggest using the well-crafted square door and nestling comfortably into the loveseat-sized cockpit. The vinyl bench seat feels relatively new and as up-to-date as it can be, while the set of white-faced analog gauges sitting front and center of the driver relay all pertinent information necessary to have a pleasant and unsurprising road trip.
The perfect stance of this machine comes thanks to a mono leaf spring setup in front and a full coilover setup out back. That suspension, combined with a straight fiberglass kit body, makes this one street rod that lives up to the tradition of lightweight/big power that would even make Carroll Shelby blush. Come see for yourself.
