This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Pro Touring looks terrific with slick paint, a custom interior, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, awesome suspension, and a true cruiser style. Plus, at the heart of it all is 500+ horsepower!
The blue paint sets the right tone for this Chevy. It comes close to the period-correct Marina Blue, but there's a vibrant tone and metallic element that radiates more than what the factory ever offered. The restoration of this one was done in 2018, and it has since been enjoyed responsibly. And that's what you'll likely do, too, because it's the kind of mindful build that you can hop in on a whim and drive with pride. This was the first year for the Chevelle/Malibu, and while they offered a Super Sport version, this wasn't yet the time for the big muscle car legend. So we think it's kind of cool that this car shows us what the first year would look like if it came for the golden era of pure American power. That means upgrades like hood vents with a big power dome in the middle and exhaust tips to belt out a serious high-octane tune. And a mirror-like shine on large 17-inch Foose alloys also takes this classic into the modern era.

The blue returns inside as an accent color, and now it's joined by a creamy white. This does a good job of mixing its vintage style with a modern flair. For example, you still have the classic door panels, SS-special center console, and a clean dash. But there's also a full fresh style surrounding it. The front seats are now Procar buckets with superior bolstering and comfort. It's a reminder a pro touring car is made to be driven. And there are more upgrades for added comfort, like an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, an added Sirius satellite radio receiver, and provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold.) And the full driver's setup is quite engaging with a custom SS steering wheel, a tilt column, and Dakota Digital gauges with a large speedo and tach.
The engine bay has the sharp and clean look of a good investment with the polished components and overall tidy style giving it a nice impression. This 400 Dart block was bored .30 over to a 406ci total. It's enhanced and fortified with Scat forged crank, Scat I beam rods, Wiseco forged pistons, and Bullet roller cam. Plus, you have liberty heads, a Holley 850 double pumper four-barrel carburetor, a ported Holley dominator intake, and Hooker ceramic coated long tube headers adding to this powerful package. The setup is also nitrous-ready - but we already have dyno sheets showing an impressive 517 - 581 horsepower! A well-built package like this is also stout, and it includes supporting components like the MSD circle track RPM controller, a CVF serpentine belt kit, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan. There's even the fuel cell and battery placed in the trunk for better weight distribution. Power like this needs the right components to get it to the ground. That's why it's mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission built by Animal Performance to handle up to 1000hp - a $3500 investment alone. It's mated to a Mark Williams 3.5-inch aluminum driveshaft on its way to the Quick Performance custom 9-inch rear end. While you're checking out all the hardware on this one, don't forget about the undercarriage photos. There you'll see more great upgrades, like tubular A-arms up front, a four-link rear, and adjustable coilovers. Power steering, grippy performance tires, and upgraded CPP four-wheel power disc brakes are all part of this sharp-driving total package.
This is one of their rare custom coupes that gives you style, comfort, and serious power - all in a package that looks ready to hit the road on a whim. So if you're looking to join the Power Tour tomorrow, you need to call today!
