1965 Chevrolet C10 Patina

Sometimes, a classic car also happens to be part of a classic story. This 1965 Chevrolet C10 pickup sat idly in an Alabama barn for 43 years before it was rediscovered. The original family, whose last name is Formal, agreed to sell their four-wheeled heirloom. After dismantling part of the barn and removing a tree, the C10 was finally freed from its half-century slumber. As a thank you and homage to the original family, this Chevy pickup was dubbed the "Formal GM" and adopted the tagline, "It's where you look best in a Bowtie."

Adorned with a beautiful patina and hand-lettered artwork by Hotbrush Art, what lies beneath its weathered-looking surface is nothing short of breathtaking. Under the hood sits a modified monster GM 396 big-block that sports long tube headers which send that thunderous power out of Flowmaster dual exhaust. The pristine engine compartment also features an aluminum radiator, high-flow water pump, GM 1-wire alternator conversion, upgraded fuel pump, and high CFM E-Fan conversion.
A custom-built GM TH400 three-speed automatic transmission handles shifting duties with the help of an upgraded transmission cooler, a billet aluminum trans deep pan, Lokar pedals, cable, and an adaptive selector shaft.

The chassis has been painted and upgraded with a 5-lug conversion. A Bell-tech suspension, power disc brakes, Yukon rear axles, and beautiful staggered twenty-inch one-piece aluminum wheels shod in big Nitto rubber measuring 245/45R-20 up front and a massive 315/35ZR-20 out back, all work in unison to give this truck a wicked stance.

The truck corrugated metal bed floor conversion was done by Evolutionary Rides, and with the color-matched (to the interior) spray-on bedliner, this truck is ready to haul in whichever way you may have in mind. Inside, we find new windshield and back glass, rebuilt door internals, new upholstery featuring seats, carpet, armrests, custom kick panels, door handles, seat belts and visors.

From start to finish, this 1965 Chevy C10 has been restored in a brilliantly beautiful fashion that not only pays homage to the loving family that cared for this truck for decades it has also given it a distinct personality that may not be formally recognized by GM, but we're fairly confident even the General would be proud of how this truck came out.
