This '40 Chevrolet Special Deluxe is a true pre-WWII treasure that celebrates the best vintage fantasies, right down to the whitewall tires and year-correct motor. But as you look over this classic, you'll also spot a few subtle upgrades, like the enhanced comfort of leather interior. It all makes for an all-around solid vintage motoring package.

A glossy black just seems to always look good on a pre-war coupe like this. After all, this is Special Deluxe, and so it has the high-class look of a tuxedo - especially with the classic whitewalls. The shine loves to show off terrific elements, like the shapely headlights that integrate into the curvy fenders. And this one really has all the best true vintage details, like the two-piece windshield, running boards, and alligator hood. Plus, the era of WWII rationing wasn't in full effect, so these 1940 cars got the best brightwork. The total impression is stylish and complete, but it's nothing that will make you too nervous to drive. And as you look at the full package, you realize that this was built to be a classic you can fully enjoy.

The interior keeps the classic style with just a touch of a modern twist. The seats have a vintage-like pattern, but these ultra-plush benches are now finished in a supple leather. There are nice details, like the cool 1940 bow tie embroidery on the back and a matching pattern on the door panels. Add in fresher carpeting, and this makes for a nice place to spend some time. While there are newer investments in this Chevy, the full atmosphere inside never loses the vintage feeling. You have the art deco dash, classic three-spoke steering wheel, and under dash heater. There are even classic pieces we rarely see, like the fan attached to the steering column and a working AM radio.

The engine bay looks exceptionally stock, right down to the oil bath air cleaner. In fact, this 216 cubic-inch inline six decodes to a year-correct motor. So over 80 years later, and it's believed that you're still looking at the original powerplant! And the way that this one fires up and runs today signals it has been under good care for generations. These inline motors have a smooth nature, and the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission gives you proper control. The result is a strong-running classic that's also quite fun to drive.

This is the vintage car fans who love a Sunday drive. So when pre-war classic like this is up for grabs, you know you need to act quickly to get it home. Call today!!!
