Mopar people know the significance of the 1974 Dodge Challenger. It was the final year for these first-generation muscle cars, and its model year was even cut short, making it the rarest of the E-bodies. More than just rarity, this example has the nice upgrades, proper Rallye style, and V8 power to make it an irresistible classic.

The Challenger's shape is one of the most popular muscle car profiles in history, but there's something on this one that makes it look exceptionally nice. The trim tag shows this has the A57 Rallye Package that gives you the hood scoops, side vent trim, and bold side strobe stripes. The interior has a nice mix of vintage and new to make a great driver's car. The cool black style goes nicely with the exterior accents, and the wood-like time is a nice premium piece for this Rallye model. There are little details you may elect to fix, like the dome light or wear in the driver's seat, but the overall impression is a great cruiser. You have nice upgrades like an AM/FM/CD/XM stereo with Bluetooth, a subwoofers speaker system, and provisions for R134a air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) And this loves to deliver the classic Challenger driver-oriented feeling with the high-back front bucket seats, a Tuff sports steering wheel, and the enveloping center console. Plus, while the Rallye package was known for its upgraded gauges, this one takes it a step further. The upgraded Dakota Digital readouts have a clean style, useful info, and they glow red to coordinate with the exterior.

The engine bay has an attractive presentation of the 360 cubic inch V8. After all, the Mopar Performance valve covers and coordinating air grabber announce this is a proper powerhouse. And it has been well maintained with nice supporting components like an Optima red top battery. The V8 inhales deeper with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake, and it exhales with a sweet tune as the H-pipe dual exhaust feeds Flowmaster mufflers. The A727 Torqueflite three-speed transmission offers a stout construction when you want performance driving, and it also is ready for easy automatic shifting. Plus, power steering and power brakes w/discs up front make for an all-around fine driving coupe.

The car is currently on a rebuilt/salvage title, which is also reflected in the value price.
