FINAL YEAR OF THE MEXICAN MADE TYPE 1'S, 1600CC, 4 SPEED, RUNS & DRIVES GREAT!

Your eyes do not deceive you. This is a genuine 2003 Volkswagen Beetle. It's the original Type 1, and not a golf-based New Beetle. So look for a ton of cool details on this unique and affordable classic that you may have never known even existed.

Mexico got to love the original Beetle for much longer than we ever did. They were still in production until 2003. So yes, the Type 1 was the legend that outlived so many imitators, and this one is its true final swan song. While the Beetles were famous for a slow evolution, VW fans will notice an instant distinction in the details with its painted headlight trim, aluminum running boards, upgraded tail lights, a single exhaust tip, and more. Plus, the black paint goes with the Mexico car's less trim to give this a more modern and sporty style. But everything from the whitewall tires to the iconic silhouette makes sure this one is seen as a true classic. So we like how this one is presented inside and out where it respects its history, but it has a driver-quality and driver-ready style that shows it wants to be having fun rather than a museum piece.

The interior has the classic VW feeling, but you can also tell it evolved for modern times. ... Please ask for the full description.

FINAL YEAR OF THE MEXICAN MADE TYPE 1'S, 1600CC, 4 SPEED, RUNS & DRIVES GREAT!

The front bucket seats have better contouring, the carpeting is fresh, and the cloth upholstery wouldn't look out of place on a Golf of the same era. The dash has some nice features that you likely didn't see on your last Bug, like an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, USB, and modern speakers. This even has a well-integrated air conditioning system (the belt is off the compressor, and so it will need restoring.) But even with these cool upgrades, it still is a classic VW. Nothing beats the vintage multi-function single VDO gauge, and they even installed a classic dual-spoke steering wheel for the right touch of vintage atmosphere.

Just like a proper classic Beetle, there is an air-cooled 1600cc motor in the rear. These later Beetles lived with a fuel injection system for much longer, and so a hardy FEI system makes for a nice bonus to the already hardy powerhouse. The four-speed manual transmission gives you complete control over this four-cylinder, and the motor over the rear axle gives you the ideal power and weight distribution. So while this is a more modern machine, it still has the vintage VW appeal that has been around for generations. Of course, there is a tighter feeling to the overall package that comes from a younger build and details like front disc brakes.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual and other info from Volkswagen de Mexico. This car is registered in Texas and the history also shows it was previously registered in Ohio. You're looking at the final chapter of a true legend. So it's impressive you can get the last of the original Beetles for such an obtainable price. Call today!!!
