This 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has a mean all-black style, V8 power, four on the floor, four-wheel disc brakes, and more. It makes for the kind of driver's T/A that delivers everything you want, including an affordable price.
Black always seems to have an appeal on classics. The paint was upgraded later in life, and that means there's a nice gloss that delivers a modern shine on a sunny day. We all love the sporty details, and the SE's gold package does a terrific job of highlighting it all on the Endura front bumper, hood scoop, fender flares, and full-width rear spoiler. And of course, no T/A would be complete without the hood bird boldly leading the way. Newer rubber seals, clean glass, and an extra sharp style to the iconic snowflake wheels make for a proper icon. It's an attractive package that also never loses the driver-quality and driver-ready style that makes it such a great car to hit the road.
The blackout style continues inside. Just like the exterior, this was an upgrade later in life, so the velour upholstery, carpeting, headliner, and door panels all have the look of a newer investment.
There are plenty of cool stock features that are a good display and could even be restored, like the Delco stereo of factory air conditioning (only the controls remain.) But the real appeal here is how this T/A has a terrific driver-oriented setup. Your right hand gravitates toward the Hurst shifter. Your left one loves the grippy sports steering wheel, and it's mounted on a tilt column so you get a good view of the full gauges in the sporty machine-turned panel.
When you lift the hood, the first thing people see is the cool shaker. But what we really like is that beneath is a 400 cubic inch V8 and a four-barrel carburetor on top. There are good fundamentals in place, like a newer wiring harness, a newer master cylinder, and a nice set of headers feeding into the dual exhaust. So it's a great base for some weekend tinkering for you to dial in your ideal balance of power and overall cruising attitude. And you'll especially love the four-speed manual transmission that always puts you in the center of the action. Plus, power steering, a rear sway bar, wide BF Goodrich tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes complete a package that makes this powerful coupe ready for the road.
Dark style and big fun are the calling card of this stick-shift T/A. So don't miss out, call today!
