This handsome 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe coupe is exactly what you're looking for when your preference is for a great custom car with an all-around appeal. After all, sleek paint, an A/C interior, small block V8 power, an upgraded suspension, and an overdrive transmission gives this classic the kind of features you'd want in a modern car.
The “shoebox” Fords always hold a special place in our hearts for resetting automotive design after WWII, and the coupe just always seemed to have the best proportions. That's why they make for quite sought-after customs. And this one really does it right with additions that make it look distinct while staying period-correct. You see it in details like the spotlights, side window overhangs, blue-dot tail lights, and a windshield sunshade. But these Custom Deluxe coupes were already impressive even before you added the extra style. They came from day one with cool details like the delicate hood ornament, whitewall tires, and rear fender skirts. All of this style is why this one looks terrific in a shade of orange borrowed from a Harley-Davidson Road King. Description
The "shoebox" Fords always hold a special place in our hearts for resetting automotive design after WWII, and the coupe just always seemed to have the best proportions. This was done in 2015 and there's less than 3,800 miles on the restoration, so it continues to have a solid shine today. And speaking of shine, like any good 1950s car there's plenty of chrome on the bumpers and on the highly stylized grille. In the middle of that bullet nose there's an "8" just so everyone knew back then that you were piloting the big motor, and today that holds even truer (more on that in a moment.)
The interior continues the classic style while also integrating terrific cruiser-level upgrades. For example, it still retains the correct split-folding bench up front, but now you have a tasteful cream with thoughtful orange piping that matches the exterior and dash paint. The door panels and trunk were also done to match. The dash keeps the classic style we love, but now it has a Dakota Digital VHX readout package that knows how to keep you fully informed. More well-integrated upgrades include a tilt steering column, bronze-tinted windows, and modern R134a air conditioning (it likely needs a recharge to be ideally cold.) These are the kind of welcomed newer features that give this classic a real sense of modern comfort.
While flathead V8 power was great to have back in the day, we now know some more potent powerhouses that will fit. So this now has a 305 cubic-inch Chevy V8 that is the shining heart in the middle of the dark and tidy engine bay. It has been built right with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and a dual exhaust with sweet-sounding Flowmaster mufflers. The Chevy transplant doesn't end at the V8. An S-10 independent front end was installed to provide a better ride and conveniences like power steering, power brakes, and front discs. Plus, you have a GM four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive that was rebuilt and installed with the 2015 restoration. It all makes this coupe useful well beyond just Sunday driving.
The sale comes complete with two car covers - a nice sign that it has been correctly cared for since its restoration. This is the custom vintage car that leaves you wanting for nothing. It's a sharp-looking cruiser that goes the distance with overdrive. So if you're looking to truly enjoy a custom icon, call today!
