This 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible Restomod is already attractive just for being a rare drop-top Mopar. But it's the updates on this that are truly irresistible. After all, you only dreamed of dropping the Viper's fuel-injected V10 into a muscle car classic... and for one person, it's about to become a reality.

There's a mean heart within, and so this Challenger was upgraded to have some terrific R/T style. Twin scoops on the hood, hood pins, wide quad exhaust tips, and the Mopar's mag-style road wheels give this an awesome style. Plus, some of the most aggressive pieces are part of a well-coordinated dark side. The blackout grille, hood stripe, tail stripe, and full-width spoiler all look like a deliberate intimidation package, and the black folding roof even goes with it all when it's in place. More than just the black, all colors are important on Mopars from this era. There's added value and distinction to have one from the High Impact options, and this one deals with two. The trim tag tells us this was born a Top Banana car, and today the shade of purple reminds us of Plum Crazy. It continues to look quite good because the full build only has about 1,500 miles on it.

While the exterior has a distinctive color combo, we really love the look of the white interior. It has a bright glowing style that will attract plenty of people, and there's plenty to see inside. The front bucket seats are high-back units with side bolsters that look just like the ones from a first-gen Viper. They are finished in vinyl, and even the rear seat was done to match. There are more well-integrated Viper touches. The more modern sports steering wheel and tilt column were carried over. And the upgraded white-faced gauges look like they belonged here since day one. The upgraded transmission even has the classic pistol grip. And while we all know this is a mean machine, it also has the right comfort features. It includes an AM/FM stereo, upgraded speakers, a power convertible top, and cold-blowing air conditioning.

This Challenger is packed with 8.0-liter or fuel-injected Viper power. So you know you're going to be lifting the hood everywhere you park this custom, and that's why the engine bay is ready to be shown off. There are plenty of polished components, and you'll also spot cool color-matched details, like the purple-painted valve covers and air intake tubes. There's a lot of motor and modern components to stuff in here, but it has all been done with care. And we especially love the shock tower brace etched with a reminder of whose heart this is. The big V10 roars to life with a terrific tune, and you are in complete control of the big power and high-octane soundtrack thanks to the Viper's T56 six-speed that was also added to this package. Power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide Cooper Cobra tires are all there to make this muscle Mopar a solid driver.
