This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Indianapolis 500 Pace Car edition is a numbers-matching V8 car with the classic style you love on the outside and some nice additions within. So it's a true Corvette icon that was made for you to enjoy.
This was a special year for the Corvette. The design was updated in time for the 25th anniversary, and it was also chosen to be the Indy 500 Pace Car. They gave it one of the most comprehensive paint packages around with a two-tone black over silver metallic paint job and a bright red pinstripe in between. It was resprayed later in life to make sure it continues to look good. And we like to see that all the special Pace Car decals are also in place. But this one never takes itself too seriously so that you can really enjoy it. After all, the deep chin spoiler, full-width rear spoiler, cowl hood with sliver accenting, and 15-inch alloy wheels with a distinctive red stripe make this one of the sportiest-looking Corvettes of all time. It deserves to be out in the world and seen.

Description
The T-tops come out so that everyone can see the distinct silver leather interior. It's also nice to put the wind in your hair as you drive. Other nice cruiser features include power windows, power locks, and an upgraded AM/FM stereo with USB input for your modern smartphone. You may replace some panels, restore the air conditioning, or add some personal touches, but the full impression is a proper driver's car. You have a tilt/telescopic steering column that gives you a clear view of the large speedo and tach. Not only have they been upgraded to a sporty white-faced style, but so have the factory gauges and added under-dash units, too.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350-cubic-inch L-48 motor. We saw all the L-82 badging, too, but that really doesn't make any difference since this V8 has been upgraded to make sure it's more powerful than any Corvette the factory offered in 1978. It has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, an HEI distributor, and headers feeding a full dual exhaust system. So it warms up to be a strong and fun powerhouse. And it's an all-around solid cruiser with features like the fully independent suspension, four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and a three-speed automatic transmission.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, service/assembly manuals, and even 1978 Indy 500 festival passes! This is the desirable pace car edition Corvette that has some nice upgrades - including the power - that make this classic a much more fun driver. Call today!!!
