Description
If you really know your Packard history, then you know they had some great pickups before WWII. However, this 1949 Packard pickup is a pure fantasy come to life. It's a custom-built pickup created from the 23rd Series cars - one of the most attractively streamlined designs of its era. You even get nice classic details like whitewall tires, Packard wire wheels, a classic bench seat interior, bright factory gauges, and the powerful straight-eight motor. What may just be the most impressive part is how everything looks like it could have been done by Packard. The rounded B-pillars have the clean style you'd get from a factory stamping. The rounded fenders of the bed go well with the curves of the front. And a nice application of red helps it look even more uniform. So take some extra time looking over a unique creation that dares to dream about a post-war Packard pickup

This truck may be a custom creation, but it represents a lot of realities. After all, it sits on the original Packard chassis almost like a reminder about how robust they built their cars. And when combined with the big torque of the eight-cylinder motor, we bet Packard could have genuinely made a handy pickup had they decided to expand the 23rd Series line. Plus, the Studebaker bed was the ideal choice for this custom. It not only had a terrific fender design, but it also fit nicely into the rest of the Packard history since they bought Studebaker in the 1950s.
