VERY SHARP CONVERTIBLE, SMOOTH 239 FLATHEAD V8, 3 SPEED MANUAL, OLDER RESTORATION & WELL PRESERVED!

Considered by many to be one of the most stylish Fords of all time, this 1939 Ford Deluxe Convertible Sedan owes its good looks to designer Eugene T. “Bob” Gregorie and the keen aesthetic sense of Edsel Ford. Teardrop headlights, a vertical-bar grille, and bodyside trim strips added to the car's great looks. Powered by the legendary 85 hp flathead Ford V-8, the car later became a favorite of hot rodders. A new hood design incorporated the side panels into one unit, making servicing easier. Most important, all Ford products adopted Lockheed-designed hydraulic brakes. Using a carryover design, the convertible sedan, Type 74, was built by Murray and was available for the final time. Drawing just 3,561 orders, this was Ford's most expensive car at $920 and the only model with a base price over $900.

This attractive 1939 Ford Deluxe has been restored years ago in correct Black paint, accented by a tan canvas top. Exterior paint finish is showing its age gracefully with a charming patina. The body is solid with excellent panel fit and alignment. Inside, correct and lovely brown leather upholstery presents well. The same brown upholstery carries over into the generous rear seat. Being a mid-range ... Please ask for the full description.

Bumper wing guards, fog lights, Deluxe clock, radio, heater and rear-view mirrors have all been fitted, as well as a spotlight. It rides on a set of lovely color matched steel wheels with chrome hub caps, trim rings and Coker Classic wide whitewall tires. 1939 was the first year for Lockheed hydraulic brakes which help give more reliable stopping power and a lot more piece of mind in modern traffic.

• 3-speed manual transmission
• Factory radio
• Fog lights
• Spotlight
