This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon carries all the iconic lines of its much more common (and expensive) coupe brothers. And it was also upgraded it with all the right pieces, including a crate V8, an A/C interior, overdrive transmission, and a great two-tone style. So dig into the details on an all-around distinctive classic.
This one instantly announces it's something special. Two-tones were terrific to have on a '57 Chevy right from the factory, but the presentation is quite modern here. After all, the factory never offered a cool package that utilized coordinating tones like silver and metallic gray. The ionic side trim makes for a fantastic dividing line because it goes so well with this duo. This look really sets the tone well for a car that's very vintage but also likes to have a modern appeal. For example, the full package is clean and complete, but it's purposely the kind of presentation that won't make you afraid to hit the road. In fact, we're told this one completed a cross-country journey with the kind of ease and reliability you'd expect from a Chevy you just bought off the new car lot. And it loves to give you practical upgrades in subtle ways. For example, the crystal clear headlights look great on a cruiser, and they also illuminate the way forward much better than the stock setup at night. The modern 17-inch wheels add to the style while also letting you fit modern sport tires.
The black, white, and gray of the interior are a well-done package that coordinates with the tones of the exterior. The priority here is about being a useful classic. So while you have the classic dash and fabric patterns, you'll also find the wagon very useful. That means upgrades like shoulder seat belts in front, a Lecarra sports steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, tinted windows, and cold-blowing air conditioning. The split rear tailgate gives you easy access to carry cargo and/or the ideal seat for a ballgame.
This Tri-Five Chevy has proper small block power, but this goes much further than the factory. The 350 cubic-inch V8 is larger than what they offered that year, and it's a crate motor that's said to have only traveled about 35k miles. This has been enhanced with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and headers. The V8 fires up nicely as it gives a proper tune out of the dual exhaust. This one has some great features you don't find in other classics, like a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. And there's an aluminum radiator w/electric to help keep this running cool even if you're in traffic with the A/C pumping. Plus, power steering, power brakes, and front discs keep this classic wagon road trip ready.
This is the iconic classic that's ready to take you near or far. Rarely do you find a desirable vintage machine with such a practical side. Call now!
