Premium style, nice upgrades, and a big block heart make this 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo the kind of classic that likes to be shown off.
Fathom Blue is a terrific Chevy color. It has a dark sophistication that also knows how to radiate in the sunlight when done right. And that good gloss really showcases the crisp creases of the sheet metal. The dark paint also helps to show off how the bright chrome bumpers hug the car's form. It's believed this coupe was given a full restoration about 20 years ago, but the way the finish looks and the body panels line up, it appears like an even younger restoration. The Monte Carlo is all about delivering a premium style. So the vinyl top has a like-new appearance, and the black looks good against the dark blue. Plus, the full-length rocker trim and rear panel have black accents to subtly coordinate with the roof. It gives the whole exterior the look of a thoughtful total package.
The black interior looks good with the headliner, carpet, and dash all presented with a quality look and feel. This one has the right features and additions that make it a great cruiser.
The restoration upgraded the upholstery to a comfy velour. It still has the classic button-top design to go with the door panels, but the bolstering of the front bucket seats really gives this the feeling of an all-day cruiser. The dual-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column to give you an easy view of the full round gauge package. And this was upgraded to a set of digital auxiliary readouts and electron tach for a distinctive way to also stay fully informed. There's also an AM/FM/cassette stereo with CD changer, plenty of walnut wood-like trim, and the heater controls show this was a factory A/C car (it will need components to return the function.) Plus, the rare power windows feature means you can roll down all the windows on this hardtop without ever leaving the driver's seat.
Under the hood is a sharp-looking powerhouse. The bold orange block, shining valve covers, air grabber w/callout, and overall tidy style are a great way to showcase this 402 cubic-inch V8. This is also built with the right power upgrades like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand aluminum intake, and headers feeding the dual exhaust. This has the right supporting components, like an MSD distributor, steel braided lines, and twin electric fans. We even have a receipt from the last few months showing that this was given a comprehensive tune-up to keep it running strong. Features like the 12-bolt rear end, upgraded rear suspension arms, and sway bars front & rear are all there to handle the big block's big torque. But this one is out to be more of a cruiser than a pure muscle car. So you have easy driving features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a smooth-shifting TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, service manuals, build receipts, and restoration photos. This is the premium big block Monte Carlo that loves to remain a great upper-class cruiser. Call now!
