It's the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, isn't it time you owned one? This 1967 coupe is a very affordable way to get into the game, and with a long list of tasteful modifications, it's a complete car, not a project, that's ready to head to the celebration immediately. This Mustang comes with a Marti report to show authenticity as well as some restoration photos. If you do glance at the Marti report you'll also notice this was an original Cali car.
OK, so Mustang coupes aren't exactly rare, but please take a closer look at this very clean Candyapple Red one. First off, that's its original color, now rendered in modern paints for an impossibly deep shine that will stand out anywhere. The neatly creased bodywork is the most recognizable shape this side of a VW Beetle, and thanks to a sizable investment, it is worthy of all the attention it is sure to generate. When you drive an old Mustang, everyone is your friend, so you can forget keeping a low profile. It also has a bit of an edge, thanks to a functioning hood scoop that feeds the small block underneath, as well as a sporty chin spoiler that gives it a road race look that will make old school Trans-Am fans smile. The grille is a custom billet piece and the blacked-out tail pane with all-new chrome brightwork balances the front spoiler perfectly. C-scoops, shiny stainless window trim, and MUSTANG block letters on the deck lid are all traditional touches that give this pony a classic look.
The black interior is also how this car was original ordered, with fresh upholstery on the twin bucket seats. New carpets and reproduction door panels help with the restored look, but a few tasteful upgrades make is even more fun to drive. Note the fat Grant GT steering wheel that looks appropriate in the '60s icon, as well as a trio of Auto Meter Ultra Light gauges neatly housed in their own panel in the center of the dash (there is no radio, but I suspect you won't miss it). The factory dials are also nicely restored with bright, crisp faces and a beautiful instrument panel that looks like it belongs in a far more expensive car. The rear quarter panel trim looks smooth thanks to eliminating the window cranks and the custom-made floor mats add a dash of bright color to the otherwise all-black interior. The trunk is ready for a tour, too, with a fresh reproduction mat and a full-sized spare with cover.
Originally spec'd with a C-code 289 2-barrel, it has been neatly upgraded to a later 302, complete with 4-barrel carburetor and a performance intake manifold. Most folks won't know the difference anyway, and with Ford Blue on the block, aluminum Ford Racing valve covers, and the open-element air cleaner, it's got a great hi-po look. Long-tube headers bolster the torque curve and Flowmaster mufflers give it that very distinctive Mustang exhaust note that everyone loves. A C4 3-speed automatic makes it quite user-friendly and the rear end is full of 2.79 gears, so if you want a highway cruiser, this is a great choice. It's also upgraded with subframe connectors and a set of export braces up front, so this is one of the more solid-feeling early Mustangs we've ever experienced. Magnum 500 wheels are the best-looking Mustang wheel ever conceived, and they carry right-sized 215/70/14 white-letter radials.
You can't build a Mustang this nice for less money, and with a classic look and a few smart upgrades, it delivers exactly the kind of fun you always imagined. Call today and join the celebration!
