This 1949 Chevrolet 3100 5-window pickup is like a farm truck deluxe. It was restored to have features like an upgraded V8, an overdrive transmission, and a custom/comfy interior. But they also made sure this real western field truck never got too fancy.
The story we're told on this one is it's a true western pickup that spent years in the Salt Lake region of Utah just waiting to be rediscovered. So when a truck has some earned history, even the professional restoration didn't want to completely erase it. The people at YesterYear Auto Restorations repaired any corrosion and dents, but they made sure the two-tone gray and blue kept a matte and matured style to represent this pickup's earned respect. The restoration was completed in 2014, and so you can still see how they got the fundamentals right, including the clear glass, bright grille, nice trim, and clean wood in the bed. YesterYear also likes their hot rods, and so you can see that street machine style in the polished dual exhaust tips, deleted rear bumper, baby moon polished wheels, and attractive forward-leaning stance.

Description
The interior has an upgraded style with an underlying practicality. The gray and blue continue inside where it's nicely intertwined on the dash, door panels, and stylish custom bench seat. And we like that the five-window cab lets in more light to show off this cool/custom two-tone. There are nice modern upgrades like LED under-dash lights, electric windshield wipers, an AM/FM stereo with aux input, and modern speakers. Plus, the sport steering wheel, tilt column, crisp Shark gauges, and Lokar floor shifter make this a better driver.
The engine bay is filled with proper V8 power. It's a 350 cubic-inch V8 that has nice flair with plenty of polished components. It has performance enhancements such as a dual plenum air intake, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a ProComp aluminum Intake, and shorty headers. You'll also spot good supporting components like an HEI distributor, billet pulleys, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan. It fires up readily, and the mild cam adds to the power drive and sweet tune of the dual exhaust. The suspension likes to ride like a classic Chevy pickup, but they also made sure it was a proper cruiser. That's why you also have features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive.
