Description
This special-edition 1999 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk convertible was one of a handful produced by SLP Engineering and sold new through Pontiac dealers. These cars had more power and better suspension than the normal factory model, and today are hard to find. From 1993-97, all Firehawks were based on Firebird Formulas, while from 1999 the Firehawk could be had as a Formula or a Trans Am like this car. Just like Camaros and Corvettes, Firebirds have long represented a lot of speed for the dollar. Many have therefore been driven hard and racked up a lot of miles. Finding a Firehawk with less than 22,000 miles such as this car is very rare.
According to Firehawk.org, 719 Firehawks were produced for the 1999 model year. Of those, only 75 were convertibles, of which 40 were equipped with 6-speed transmissions and 18 were painted black. This is a very rare bird. It is a very well kept and low mileage car and it shows, with deep black paint and a spotless charcoal gray interior that features seat heaters and optional Firehawk logo floor mats. No expense was spared on sound and electronic upgrades on this Firehawk that include an Alpine touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth, alarm, Drone Mobile GPS, front and rear cameras, high-quality speakers and a top-of-the-line Ransenso RC M Ultimate radar detection system. A receipt from Cartunes of Atlanta for $13,783 documenting the work is included with the sale.

Performance upgrades are numerous and include a 5.7 Liter LS engine that is tricked out with port and polished PCR aluminum heads, Texas Speed & Performance cam shaft with spec sheet, Big Mouth LT Fast throttle body, SLP Performance FloPac cold air induction system, ceramic headers, strut tower brace, custom dual exhaust with Flo-Masters and Fast Fuel Air Spark Technology 92 MM intake manifold. Power to the rear wheels is transferred by a factory 6-speed manual transmission with McLeod RXT clutch and pressure plate to a 3.73 posi-traction rear end. The dyno sheet from Vengeance Racing that comes with the car documents 454 horsepower and 380 ft lbs of torque. The brakes have been upgraded accordingly with big Wilwood 6-pistion calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in the rear with two-piece drilled and slotted rotors. The wheels have been upgraded as well with black 19-inch rims wrapped with sticky Nitto NT555 performance tires. The original window sticker, owner's manual and many receipts accompany the car.
This lavishly upgraded, fast, handsome and rare 1999 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk convertible presents a rare opportunity to own one of the very best of the breed. Call today!
