FRESHLY BUILT 455CI MOTOR, 3X2BBL CARB SETUP, ORIGINAL COLOR COMBO, NICE GTO!

It's not as if GTOs are light on performance, but there's more to extremely sharp 1966 GTO 2-door than meets the eye. Packing a built 455 cubic inch big block and a bulletproof driveline, it's the perfect Saturday night special to keep all those pesky Camaros and Mustangs in line.

Repainted about four years ago at a cost of over $13,000, you know this GTO is pretty. The code N Burgundy paint is this car's original color and it perfectly captures the GTO's split personality. On the one hand, it looks upscale and elegant, but on the other it is sporty and aggressive. As you'd expect at that price, the finish is outstanding and seems far fresher than four years old thanks to careful maintenance since it was finished. The GTO's clean, chiseled lines are expertly rendered here, with smooth, shiny surfaces that reflect without distortion and panels that line up exactly right. And when you're spending the long dollar, you don't mess around with juvenile stuff like wings and stripes, so this high-quality Goat has a look that's authentic in every way. New bumpers highlight the shiny paint and the stainless trim remains in first-class condition.

The black interior is even newer and just as ... Please ask for the full description.

The black interior is even newer and just as expertly done as the paint work, featuring reproduction seat covers, new door panels, and a beautiful wood-rimmed steering wheel. The center console houses the shifter for the 4-speed manual gearbox and the traditional dash with round gauge pods is full of factory gauges, including a tachometer. We strongly suspect that the back seat is original and in excellent condition with very few signs of age and use. Entertainment comes from a modern AM/FM stereo head unit that was clearly designed for just this application and there are matching Pontiac-logo floor mats on the carpets. It's all-business, don't get me wrong, but it's so beautifully crafted that it's hard to think of taking this car out and hammering it through the gears. The trunk is nicely finished with the usual gray mouse fur mat as well as a full-sized spare and jack assembly.

Now about that engine. At first glance, it might look like your average Tri-Power setup, but underneath there's a Pontiac 455 cubic inch V8 that's been bored .060 oversize and built for combat. There's a fresh Barry Grant 3x2 intake manifold and a trio of Demon 2-barrel carburetors on top, all carrying small, round air cleaners just the way the factory did it. Chrome valve covers are another nod to the OEM look and there's light Pontiac Turquoise paint on the block itself. Hooker Super-Comp long-tube headers and a rumbling dual exhaust system give this GTO a voice that is a little deeper than your usual Goat, and it's worth noting that both the transmission and rear end (with 3.55s inside) are the original, numbers-matching pieces. The floors weren't restored but that also means that you can easily see how nice this car really is, although it hasn't been detailed for show. Reproduction Rally II wheels were just recently installed and carry fresh 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 rear blackwall radials.

A beautiful car with a ferocious heart, this awesome GTO is one of the few pieces of early muscle that performs even better than the legend would suggest. Call today!
